Just as an update. Go the car back with rebuilt trans and the TF-2 kit installed on the milder side.
Very pleased with the way it drives now... the shifting is not harsh, but you can feel a gentle thud as it shifts. Nice quick firm shifting, but not unpleasant or anything.
