This just recently started on my 85 p/u. When the truck is idling in park or neutral there is no noise, but if you put it in gear (reverse, drive) and start driving then there is a low resonating hum and a slight vibration. I had my wife start the truck and put it in gear and hold the brake while I got underneath and could hear the noise and when I put my fingers on the bottom of the housing where the torque converter is, I can feel it vibrate really good there. There is no leaks under the truck where it sits. The motor is a 360 with a 727 tranny (auto). Is it my front pump going out or is the TC on its way out?

From your description I'd say the converter is going out.

Thanks, went and got one from precission torque convertors. $84 out the door for a stock one. It is the second one I bought from them in a week. The first one was a 2200 stall for my RR. Good people over there.
