Side hung float bowls, not the cathedral bowls. They are shorter. @Sonny .
No Bob, two barrels and four barrels are rated at different depressions. Don't quote me, but two bbls at 3", four bbls at 1.5"
You need the DC holleys.....
Spoke to Holley tech and they confirmed it would.I dont know for sure, thats why i suggested a carb guru. It looks right to me, its primary side so it has an accelerator pump provision. You would probably be able to use the pump and needle and seat from the cathedral bowl, but you would obviously need the side hung float and linkages.
2 bbls are rated at a dP of 3" Hg, 4bbl @ 1.5" Hg. It is not a linear relationship. Pressure changes at the square of flow rate. To go from a flow rate @ 3" Hg to 1.5" Hg divide by the square root of 2.
Quick ballpark math is to divide by 1.414 so, the six pack 1350 cfm equals a 955 cfm 4bbl rating.2 bbls are rated at a dP of 3" Hg, 4bbl @ 1.5" Hg. It is not a linear relationship. Pressure changes at the square of flow rate. To go from a flow rate @ 3" Hg to 1.5" Hg divide by the square root of 2.
Curious...... are the fuel level sight plugs on those side hung outboard bowls lower than the center carb like the six pack center hung bowls?
@68 HEMI GTS , are those qft metering blocks? I just bought a qft primary block for an ancient 850 dp, hoping to get some adjustment. If they are qft, how do you like them?
Did you get the vacuum linkage or the mechanical linkage? Edelbrock used to make the mechanical linkage but not any more.So hopefully this all comes together. Here are my eBay deals so far (std $ then my $):
Holley 80684 $356 Paid $290 x2
Holley 80683 $398. Paid $299
Holley linkage $172. Paid $75
All new, all free shipping. Will need a side float and bowl for rear carb. And a six pack base plate AND a new intake and....
But I’ll have a six barrel-ish Plymouth!!!

Does the stock six pack air cleaner base clear the fuel line connections on top of the side hung bowls? You need the DC holleys, they actually flow more cfm than the chrysler vacuum carbs! I also run one of those forsaken roundy round 2 barrels for a center carb. Apparently it works like **** from what I’ve read.

Re: Rochester vs Holley 2bbl carbs per this thread, my experience was the Rochesters leak fuel, often, on many people's cars, to a point where more than one Pontiac Tripower owner said "yeah, they all leak like that"...
Well that wasn't acceptable to me, and now our Tripower on the 421 in the 65 GTO is pristine, and does not leak fuel, anywhere. They have also had internal modifications done, like drilling and component parts swaps, to bring their performance up to the performance enhancements of the 421.
Promax modded my Holley 3x2 system and I'm extremely happy with it, and the non-stick blue gaskets are AWESOME!
As far as I'm concerned, I'd take the Holley 2bbl carbs over the 'chesters ANY day, but I'll +1 the suggestion to go with the FiTech 3x2 system, IT'S FANTASTIC!! (just not right for my future stroker motor)
