I got my fingers crossed that today is the day :)

He better hurry up and get, some of us are leaving to go up to the Nats. tomorrow morning and we won't be around to help him out!

Oh, he's in very good hands now. Is my understanding "mate."

I think he's driving it.... where else would he be?

Steps have been taken to get this car running before we complete page 20 on this thread :)

I just hope that these 18 pages at least help someone else troubleshoot their car in the future and get THEIRS to start and run.

Then my work is done here. LOL!!!

Now time to go start tearing my car apart so I can get the new QA1 upper control arms and brake lines installed before this weekend and I can make the 800+ car Morris, IL cruise night.

it helped me!!!

So its bee a day and a half since hearing from the OP.
Now I know what a phone sex operator feels like.....you get used for a little while and the "customer" just disappears, never letting you know how things turned out.

He must of got it running, and is now out tearing up the streets. Forgets all about us. Sad Lee is sad. :( :(

Meanwhile, I'm getting my QA1 upper control arms in place, go to put the brand new camber bolts in and WTF?!?!??! They don't fit!!!!!!!!!!!! They are a couple thousands too big so now they are at a machine shop getting cut down to the OEM size because the OEM bolts fit. Must of been made in China. Machine shop guy even said "they're not even round. Don't worry, I'll take care of you!"

but I never called you ....:rofl::rofl: I believe we will get an update hopefully later today or maybe tomorrow. I put OP in touch with a local MoPar expert and his car is currently undergoing minor surgery to correct the problem. Apparently this 74 RR is a very nice car and is well worth spending a little time on to make it right. :)

Sounds like the making of a "Do's and Don'ts with aftermarket suspension parts" topic. I hope it works out, and please keep us updated on that. I know a few guys interested in doing the same thing.

Hey im not dead! yet... Well anyways like kiwigtx said, he hooked me up with one of his mopar friends at thertgarage.com. He happened to live like 45 mins away from me so i borrowed my friends truck and trailer and hauled her over. Hopefully the fix is just some minor wiring or something and not some complete open heart surgery (For my wallets sake lol). Im going off to college in a couple of weeks so I really need to get her going to get my fix of roadrunner before I leave.

Well, now that were at it might as well make it 20 pages...
After I get my car back I want to figure out how to get my gas tank gauge working. I checked the sending unit and that checks out, so im thinking that its a ground issue or voltage limiter. Im not sure how hard this is to fix. My other gauge right next to it, maybe oil, or alt??? idk i forget but that doesnt work either so I dont know if thats a symptom of ground or voltage limitier issue but ill find out soon i hope.

Then also my speedometer reads a lot faster than what my gps reads. If im going 50 the speedo reads 60, when im going 60 my speedo reads 80???!!!!!!! Im not sure if this is a problem with the speedo gear in the tranny or what, but it would kinda be nice to know how fast im going.

The fuel tank and temperature gauge are both fed from the Voltage regulator - so I would check that the VR works first, fuel tank only usually means a ground wire missing.
As for the speedometer - there is a handy table below to work out the pinion tooth number required to make your speedometer work 'close' to correct. Table borrowed from another site. Measure your tire height and look up the pinion required, according to diff ratio.

ok...lets put our bets on the table...:blob1:

I'm betting something to do with the timing...maybe slipped a couple of teeth on the chain...

2nd cause...something awry with the head work, or head/s installation....
