The dizzy should go in the exact same right?

Okay everything is back in place

Okay now I'm getting 4.2V with the old system in. Does that sound right with the ballast resitor in place?

Fire her up.

If she doesn't start, may not hurt to double check the #1 spot on the old dizzy.

is that with just key on..? remote start..? or key start..? we need more precise information...

That was with the key on, it dropped to like 3.9 when I used the remote start. My battery is at 11.89v so I'm charging it again.

Meanwhile I'm checking the number 1 rotor spot and it seems like its one wire off. So the rotor is facing the #8 wire not #1. Is this a big problem?

start it with the key....using the remote start gives reduced voltage at the coil on the oem system...

you probably are going just a little past tdc when you are bumping it around wit the remote start, it's not an exact art doing it that way lol...dont worry about it...

7.6V by turning the ket to start

your battery is most likely ran down mang....put it on charge, and take a break, go make you a sammich

Okay its on the charger now. Should it be close to 12 v at the coil?

Well I have the tdc mark on the balencer lined up and its one conplete plug off. I'm sure its just because I retarded the timing a little.

Good idea with the sammy

you cant completely trust that 0 mark on these old engines...the harmonic balancers can spin around on the crank at some point over the years..., thus giving you an inaccurate reading...

I say hot wire it. That will eliminate all other variables. Get it running, then fix the any problem areas. Rene'

Run a wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the positive terminal on the coil, making sure to get a good connection on both. Use the same size wire that's going to the coil or a little bigger. When it starts it will run till you pull the wire off, so don't use terminal connectors just twist the wire on

Hold off till others chime in I know this works with points distributors not sure on electronic. Sorry just thought of that

Its been like 3 weeks now. I'm not sure how many bolts I'm getting at the ballast
