Unusual Symptoms???

If the adjusters were loose enough the pushrods could have caught the lip of the lifter and hung the valve open.Atleast you caught it now,not a full throttle. The joys of being a man, some body always has their hand in your pocket:laughing6:

Wow I feel like I am re living my own story reading this post with my set up, I have come down to 40 degrees total timing and starts good but idles rough in drive, idles at 900 in park but with a stock stall I can't expect too much meaning I throw it in neutral at a stop for now. thinking an 1500-1800 stall should just about do it for in drive idle. But over all I had to re jet the card, jets and needles just to get the A/F mix screws to do anything still a tiny bit lean but good for now. Bend the tabs on the piece of **** 440source distrib just to drop 15 degrees of timing. but a combo of all that just to have some foot stompin power and a decent idle. some one mentioned manifold vac leak, that's funny cuz I just started to notice some oil on the top of the valley pan so now I am wondering if some of the problem is with that?
