Just test fitting the US Car Tool torque boxes before fitting them and some subframe connectors, is this the right way? Seams like a fair way from a 'snug' fit, so I just wanted to make sure before I start bash, cut and welding.

Any advise? should the front edge of the panels line up with the edge of the frame rails etc? on the front one, that puts the front quarter bolts well out of centre if I do that...

Oh on a side note, should I fit the subframe connectors first then the torque boxes or vise versa?

Cheers!

For starters it looks like some of your frame is bent all to ****. That caint make it too accurate right from the get go.

I like their stuff . A little overpriced though. I mean you can make a template out of cardboard and cut and bend it yourself. $200.00 ?

the frame connectors are $170.00 plus shipping. I get that, they cut all the irregularities for you . but from what I've read there's still hours worth of grinding. but 200.00 for the torque boxes ?

And Yeah, that's a hell of a kink in that rail, thanks for the pictures i'm going to keep them for reference. I'm making the torque boxes

RRR; You mean the last pic? Thats the L shaped brace that comes out from the frame rail to the door sill. Only just saw it when I went to test fit the boxes. Was thinking about heating and using a combination of hammer and pulling on a bolt through the hole to try and straighten it up.

Besides that tho, are they the right positions? I've just chopped a piece of 2.5 x 1.5" for the frame rail and was test fitting it with the rear box and there are some massive gaps. About a finger width. Obviously my cars been around the block a few times but its pretty massive gap.

D575, you know doing it over again, I DEFINITELY would have just made them up. Had it in my head they were 'complex' then this but going by how much work I'm going to have to put into them to make them work, I may as well have made them from scratch.

don't get me wrong I really like their stuff. if I was at a point where I didn't have time or I really needed the car back on the road i would buy them. We all have different circumstances , we all know what we have to do. right now I'm kind of done until next rainy season. I like to accumulate parts and do things when I can't drive . keep posting pictures I love it

I put the US Cartool boxes in my Charger not to long ago. If this picture doesn't post, there are more on page 5 of my thread on the resurrection. We spent a few hours modifying the pieces to make them fit nice. The worst was adding material to the curved portion that butts up to the floor. Overall they are not that bad and a lot cheaper than the original style repops selling for $350. We put the frame connectors in first. Make darn sure your frame is straight and level and held in the correct position before welding any of this stuff in.
