Buttoning up my 505 for a trip to the Dyno next week and the old M/T valve covers won't clear the rockers. Kind of a bummer. These Harland Sharp 1.5 rockers were on Edelbrock heads and moved to the Trick Flows. What actually clears this application?

We used Comp Cam Pro Magnum rockers on Trickflow 240 heads with stock valve covers.

I'm currently running these summit racing cast covers. But I have run the old moroso chrome steel with the 240s and 1.6 rockers with no issues.

I built one with 440 source roller rockers, and had to massage the ends of the M/Ts to fit over. It cleared and was leak free

I machine spacers for mine. I have a set just like these on my 505 with TF270 heads and HS 1.5 rockers. Not sure what set this was, but I think it was an old version. Maybe for my old Indy SR heads. O ringed. I have the jigs to make them. I'm better at it now then when these were made. If you need to get by on the dyno, glue a couple thick gaskets together.

If I remember, the trick flow bolt hole location is kinda screwy. I machine the holes in the correct location. I have made spacers for some other Indy heads also, not to mention making M/T covers fit my B1MC heads. I'm a M/T fan....

I used 440 source aluminum fabricated valve covers. they look amazing. My issue was distributor clearance. I was able to massage the covers to fit. I have a tread on here about it but I'm unsure how to post a link

Is it the sides or the top? I have had to massage the sides of M/T valve coves more than once to make them fit with no problems, especially on the thicker version. The made in Japan are a thicker and heavier than the ones with no country of origin. I don't remember if I had height issues or not on the TF270s. I use spacers on all my aluminum heads to use o rings.

Width (sides)is the issue so I don't think spacers will help. Engine builder will use a set of his own the Dyno. Now I get to find a set of older covers that I like for this one. Day two type build so fabbed covers don't fit my idea.

My old Mickies wouldn't clear my Trick Flow 240s either. Nothing that a die grinder and carbide burr couldn't fix.
Just some gentle clearancing on the valve cover is all it takes (not the head). They'll fit.

This one? Nice work BTW

Just not the look I am going for. Builder has some moroso covers that fit fine for the dyno. I need to dig some of my old stuff and see what else I have.
