Didn't one of the bigfoot trucks run dual predators?
Ya....i'd save that to try out on a running junkyard engine. Once you have a better seat of the pants feel for it.....you can go from there (and educate us). Thanks for the opinions! I believe I will pass on running it...for now anyway. The engine on the stand right now is a bone stock 440-6 with a performer rpm in it for break-in... don't want to wash it down with a goofy old carb.
That is no large featOn a mild 440 in a 70 challenger it picked up 3 tenths at the track over a edelbrock carb. 14.0 to 13.7 and gained 4 mph.
Lol..That is no large feat
Could probably make a carb at home and get the same results
Definitely run it! if you are not picking up a half second, keep tuning.A buddy wants to try this out on my 440... engine is on the run stand. Does anyone know anything about these carbs? I never heard of them. Should I run it??

I'm sure there are tens of thousands of guys running Kendigs and Predaters on their hotrods, to pick up a half second each.I have been running one for years and it flicks my truck’s good manners into a light switch if not careful on the throttle. Anything over 1/4 throttle and it’s party time! Dr. Jeckyll at idle and Mr. Hyde if you slip up. it runs all year long and even at -40º it wants more. These were known for their excellent fuel efficiency if set up properly and the opposite when not.
If you cut a hole in 1/8” aluminum sheet and drill holes where the bolts go, it can be offset any direction on top to position where needed. Put the center carb bolt where needed to fit your cleaner to this base.
People are baffled, but 1250 cfm is 1250 cfm with throttle response NOW!
Back in my youth a buddy had one of the predator carbs on his 427 chevy in a Chevelle. From my memory it worked very well. We took it to the drag strip, and it turned some respectable times. Throttle response was very quick.A buddy wants to try this out on my 440... engine is on the run stand. Does anyone know anything about these carbs? I never heard of them. Should I run it??

Would still need carbs.
Nothing for poly's though.
Ten or twelve psi is easy with the right pulleys, if that's what you want. When you try to get up around 15-20 lbs, they get a bit inefficient.I'm running an LA now... was looking at Dyers.. $5k for a LA kit... my house will be paid off next year.. after that i will think bout it Have wanted a roots blower since i was a little kid... a lot of money for 5psi boost
Ask yourself this. If they were so great why are they not made and sold anymore. The answer is simple.Ok, firstly the Kendig must not be confused with any other variable venturi carburetor. It has no accelerator pump, no fast idle function, no jets, and no plastic parts other than the top door backfire flaps which reset themselves after every upset. The internals are all metal and precision fit. To rebuild one is straightforward if necessary at all. It is labeled "Pollution Control Industries" because of its ability to reduce emissions and increase mileage by up to 50%. This carb has substantial pedigree and is very satisfying to drive. When you finally try one and get to know it better, then you will understand. Until then, those who have never known will just talk.
