I'll agree with 68 Sport Satellite;"The Magnificent 7" is a true classic. Watched it from start-to-finish last weekend. Just about all the 40's,50's and early 60's westerns were the best. Good moral story, good plot, good acting by good actors and actresses.

Once Upon a time in the west...Henry Fonda...The Kentuckian.....The Apache.... Burt Lancaster some Great films.....

Glenn Ford in "The Fastest Gun Alive" this is a great movie watch it ,it's also in black and white.

Any new Westerns in the last few years?
Surprised no one mentioned 3:10 to Yuma. That's the most recent Western besides 'Cowboys & Aliens', lol.

Dances With Wolves, Tombstone, Unforgiven, Quick & the Dead, 3:10 to Yuma, True Grit (2010), and Silverado are my favorites that are post-1980's.

Watch the old True Grit first though, the original classic goodness with John Wayne.

Definitely watch Blazing Saddles WITH them though, so you can explain how this country use to not be so politically-correct and could still be harmeless at the same time. All in good fun, when people weren't such sensitivo crybabies! And also why Mel Brooks is a comedy genius. If they like it, show 'em History of the World too, heheh.

A bunch of wonderful suggestions ! Simple me, my answer is anything with the Duke or Clint is a must see. One of my personal faves is High Plains Drifter. And, yes, having seen Blazing Saddles in a drive-in when it was released, I agree it's a comedy must-see !

not a well known movie but how about "Valdez is coming?"
or The White Buffalo.

And a lot of TV shorts.
The Cisco Kid, Pallidin, and Wanted: Dead or Alive.
Of course after Roy Rogers and Gene Autry.
Matt
