Water in all the cylinders?

Most or all lower head bolt holes are rusty, as you said loose? When he tried to start it sucked into cylinders? Think you nailed it.
Humm, those head bolts were quite tough to un torque! Maybe they were rusted in? I will take a close look at them.

If you need a hand on Saturday I should be up there for the car show. My GTX has already been in the rain so I know it won't melt lol. Hopefully we can meet at the show at the least.

Water? If there is a cloud on Saturday she is not coming out of the glass case!

Hi Jim that’s awfully gracious of you! If Saturday works for you the wife and I could come by for a short visit! I PM’d 69bee to discuss possibilities of a build.

Dave is very reasonable and being a Mopar guy loves working on these old engines! You should see some of the other bizarre things he has worked on, antique tractors, rare European classics, Motorcycles,

I'm in Glendale and more that happy to come and lend a hand also. Just let me know!
Hey that would be great I would greatly appreciate it! Will cover gas (Glendale is a bit of a hike) and lunch when I am ready to do this!! Will let you know.
I really don’t want the wife lifting anything so this would be fantastic!!!

Sounds good. The wife is working this Saturday so I am free. Send me a PM with your contact info & address and I'll be there. Do I need to bring anything?

Awesome great thanks! I will PM you! If you have a webbing type of sling that would be nice. I have a load leveler for my hoist but I think its only chains which would be fine....but I prefer webbing. No sweat if not..

Interesting this just around the corner from Dave's place..... I know nothing about them.... Dave must as there is not much in Huachuca City. They are a Hughes distributor...

This is old info. The Supercharger Store has sold, and the new owner has relocated it to Tucson. One of the old owners (a customer of mine) has told me that they moved and he goes to the old building to answer the phone.

Just wondering if you pulled the little locating pins on the block that hold the cork gaskets in place? The aftermarket intake won't fit right with them still in the block.

Hi thanks I did pull both pins and I did NOT use the cork. I used the black RTV instead.

So here are some pictures og the engine after being pulled. I can’t see anything suspicious other than the gaskets which I am not sure was caused by my dissassembly of the heads from the block. I wonder what the formal teardown and reassembly process would cost at a shop? Looks like the engine was rebuilt?

Your freeze plugs are shot.
Just wondering if a corrosion buildup pushed up the intake a tad and started the water leak?Just an idea from freeze plug pic. It is a SB right?

Yes its a 318, the intake gaskets looked good.

Looks like it was apart before with the orange silicon. I tore mine all the way down and had Dave put it back together. I could not justify doing it twice if I did it for what he charged to reassemble it to a long block.

Well it doesn’t take much to push out a gasket, just throwing out ideas. OR eating out some metal(?)
