Welp...727 no reverse? No wonder!

Which TransGo kit did you install? I rebuilt mine about 15 months ago with a TransGo TF1 (mildest kit) and so far so good. Really would not like to have the opportunity to remove it again.

Hi AR, yes, TF-1,I replaced the servos with billet units and heavier retainer Also has a bolt in sprag, 4 pinion planetary's , 5 clutch drum, deep pan, B&M Super cooler, Valvoline Dexton/ Mercon fluid.

How do you guys like that TF-1? I haven't made any decisions yet but my builder was recommending an upgraded valve body, more for lubrication purposes than for performance. My car performed very well without tire-chirping-bang-firm shifts so I'm really not interested in the more race-oriented kits

The spring retainer did not let loose or deform

Different story
Yeah somehow the only thing that broke was the band, maybe because I had just shifted into reverse and wasn't really moving yet..she's going to get overhauled anyway though...'tis time!

...Update. Had the 727 rebuilt. Besides the full overhaul kit a new rear band and rear support were put in. All other internals were in great shape. Kept my 4-pin front/3-pin rear planets and 3.8 lever. Builder rectified the bucky/early 2-3 shift. Added the TF-2 kit, setup for hotrod/street performance so I still have 'D' and I love it. Under light throttle the shifts are smooth and at the proper speeds but with more throttle the gears hold longer with increasingly firmer shifts. Very nice to feel the car move through the power band properly in 2nd now. Apparently someone was in this trans before I got it who knew how to build c-4s and 350s and thought they could do the same stuff to the mighty torqueflite(lol)...my builder set it up right to mopar specs and it's waay better now..thanks for all the help and info guys!

5 clutch hemi drum- don't waste your time or money- according to Gil Younger late of Transgo- if you do you have to use the correct lever
TF2 Kit you can set it up any way you need/ have too Transgo also has new valve body separator plates
do the band support upgrades
put larger cooler line fittings and open up the cooler passages
use ATF4+

Randy is a friend of mine. He makes a good product and is a whiz at Torqflites.
His advice or knowledge alone was worth the price

I bought both his front and rear servo kits

Awesome products

I used the OEM Hemi 5 disc front drum for a short time, the switched to the standard 4 disc drum with the Turbo Action 5 disc spacer. Many thousand runs with that. More recently Cope clutches & steels, 5 in the standard front drum. Use a good quality valve body.

That's pretty cool. I have a set of his servos in my 69 GTX and there are zero issues. Very nice stuff!
