What Carb ?

What NEW carb would be best for my son's '63 Belvedere, 318 Poly ? I am sick and tired of trying to get his old Carter Ball and Ball 1676 two barrel to work right. I can get it to run great, but it dies at stops and kills the motor shifting the push buttons from nuetral to reverse. Has anyone had good times with the Holley 350 cfm 0-7448 ? Thanks, Rick

The carb looks pretty clean. Are you sure there are no vacuum leaks??
