What did you do to your Mopar today?

IMAG00054.jpgI purchased my first MOPAR, now just have to find time to get out there and enjoy it....work work work

Rainy-day projects:

1) Took off the water neck, to find there was no thermostat
2) flushed the rad
3) Removed the PS pump to replace the bracket
4) Removed the grille to replace it

I saw mine in my garage for the fist time since November. I brought it out of hibernation yesterday. It fired right up like I had just shut it off 5 minutes ago, rather than 5 months ago. Mopar or No Car!

Still taking chunks out of blasting and priming the EC.

Found some rust hiding under the seam sealer on the cowl panel joints- YUCK.
Blasted the best I could and sprayed with rust converter.
When I paint the rest of the car, I'll take the fenders off and do them better.
Should at lest help them not get any worse.

Fixed the battery hold down, new fluid in the power steering pump, installed a rad puke can, and evened out my tire pressures on the challenger. Did port work, cleaned, and painted a '70 hemi head for the Road Runner.

Put aluminum rims on the back (same size-15x7). Saved 10 lbs each over the steelies. Whoo-hoo! Backed off the timing a little to reduce ping. Time to go racing!

Yanked out the rear axles to get the green bearings installed. Will find a good shop to press on the bearings tomorrow, then install the axles asap. Then wait for the rain to stop here in Vancouver to re-insure the ride for the summer.

Well, not for my Mopar since I no longer have her, but I did get around to welding and packaging of my final run of promo wheel discs

Patina and Fog. Or, Marine-layer. What could be better? Great pic.

Replaced the trans pan gasket again. The rigid one leaked. Tried snug and then tighter still leaked. Swapped in a Fel-Pro TOS18583 (Felcoprene) gasket. Leaks. It must be something wrong with the B&M aluminum pan. The rails are smooth and straight. Maybe there's a hairline crack in the casting?

Frustrating.

Detailed/painted the original intake manifold for my 1972 SSP and installed valley pan gasket only to break one of the bolts. :( Temporarily installed the intake to make sure bottom gaskets sealed. tomorrow, i'm going to try at removing broken bolt and finish installing the top gaskets, intake and rebuilt holley numbers matching carb. was hoping to have her running this weekend, but it's gonna have to wait until next weekend, I think. :eusa_pray:

Removed driver door panel to adjust window and noticed the support for the vent wing window is missing.

Swapped out the Champions for NGK and stepped up to Taylor 8mm wires while I was at it.
