What did you do to your Mopar today?

I'm sure I'll get over it with the 512 stroker!

Went to the CEMA show, at the Chrysler Headquarters. Hot, but we had shade and a breeze.

Stuck in a new set of #12 champions today, no problems just thought it was time.
old ones had a nice brown color , for as much around town driving I do I thought they looked pretty good.

Installed new letters! Before and after pics-

Made some progress yesterday, got the drivers side all torqued down. Still waiting on the PST adjusting sleeves for the tie rod ends. Going to put on the disk and brake caliper right now. Unfortunately I have to open the garage for a while because of the fumes ( attached garage). Wife hates some of the smells I make out here.

The dust shields should not be put on as they will help hold in heat. It's not really a big deal if ya leave them on, either way, your brakes will work just fine.

Took my '66 to the COMA All-Mopar show yesterday. Since I'm president of the club, the morning started early, and we got wrapped up a little after 5pm. The classes with the most entries were the two stock B-body classes and the metric Challenger classes. Had 109 entries, unofficially. It was a very good show, overall! A long day, for certain.

Nice, which kit did you go with? And are they drop spindles?

Glad you said that, now I have a good excuse for not having them ! ................................MO

Originally bought a disc conversion kit on eBay from 60tozero brakes. Then after some conversations with 65roadracer this spring, I bought the Qa1 suspension setup he had just removed from his car. He swapped to coilovers and rack & pinion. The spindles are A body big bearing, unfortunately not dropped.

I trotted out all of the 50+ year old brake parts for the rear drum brakes and cleaned them up on the bench grinder with a 8" wire wheel. Put some colors to 'em. All nice and spiffy! Something funny; I managed to misplace several small parts from the original brakes and made a list so I could go shopping. A couple hours later I'm standing at the work bench and look down. Both front spindles with complete drum brakes are sitting there on the floor. Smack forehead...so I got one side put together but now that I stop to think I would bet the wheel cylinders are frozen. So I'll remove the one I put on and see about that.

Went thru the brake thing about 4 mo.s ago, had to replace all of the wheel cyl. , and the master, with all of the lines, steel and rubber. (car set for twenty yrs) only redeeming thing that happened was that I had just put new brake shoes on with all new hardware before I parked it 20 yrs ago, had forgotten about the new brakes, what a plesant surprise that was! had another surprise today, have had a set of US car tool frame ties lying in the floor for a few days now, put them up to tack them into place and discovered that they fit!!! this is no mean feat on my car(1964 bel) as it was a 426-w 4 speed from the factory, so the old car has been abused mightily pretty much since it was new, two years of which was with a hemi /w/ four speed, hard on stuff, so my car is pretty rough on the bent and twisted part. that those us car tool pieces went on and fit was surprising, the basic kit, frame ties, and front and rear torque boxs, (my car is already tubbed and springs moved) that kit is worth at least half again what they get for it, and is probably 60 lbs lighter than what I was about to do to my old car, and will be 100% better and stiffer too!!! KUDOS to US Car Tool for an outstanding product!!

Got the rotor, caliper and pads on. Big learning curve for me. Hadn't done mopar discs before. I actually put the passenger caliper on at first :BangHead: but I kept going in to the computer to double check the information I found online and caught it before I got to far.
