What did you do to your Mopar today?

Stupid lower bump stop nut is stripped and I having to cut it off. Tough to get in that area

Trust me MO, she is the only person in the world who could do this to my car, but if you look at the picture closely, I don't appear to be to enthused about it! LOL.
Easy fix....chop it down to second and side-step the clutch while simultaneously punching the loud pedal.....of if the car is automatic, just friggin' nail the loud pedal. :steering::lol:

Finally got to the frame rail connectors! Went on well and they do make a difference!

Replaced the pass side lock actuator on Dakota.

Fifth time for that side and on third one on driver side.

!@#$%^&*()

Usually it's the solenoid that burns out.
Bought a $70 "made in USA" part last time and after 2 months, the handle linkage quit working internally. Did mention !@#$%^&*()(*&^%$#@! ????

You'd think after that many times I'd be able to do it in about 10 min and NOT scrape the first layer of skin off my left inner forearm under the wrist......but NOOO--oooo. 45 min of frustration and raw flesh again.

At least this time it was only $10 at the U-pull and I did get it out in about 20 min without terrible arm scraping.

This truck eats those, serp belt idler pulleys and MAP/MAF sensors.

I stopped putting sensors in at 50K miles. All it does is cause the cruise to surge between 55 and 65 MPH (about where you want to use it, of course).

I suppose if you HAD to pick parts to go through every couple dozen K miles or so, you could do a LOT worse.

Today, I'm just driving the Satellite to the flea market and enjoying the working A/C!

Might spend some time on the D150 if I feel like it.

Well I got a lot together this afternoon. Stupid stripped bump stop ate up a bunch of time. Still need to torque and pin most of it and get the new disc and bearings in. Time to clean up and get ready for work tomorrow. And have a beer

By the way 2003 ram pulling the 73 ! 30 year difference not to much has changed

After pulling trans today pulled bearing retainer to change seal that I thought I put in backwards. Well it was in right. Wasn't leaking, the gasket I put on bearing retainer was hard and thin. Think gasket wasn't sealing. Bought a couple of retainer gaskets from Brewer's put one on. The gasket I removed had a shiny surface and very thin to seal anything.

Since Sunday.. Drove Brutus 25 miles to friends shop to put in new motor mounts and a torque strap. On the way, the right side rocker arm shaft bolt worked its way out and the shaft broke--lost all oil pressure. Last year the left side did the same thing. WHY?? not a very high lift cam , nor high valve spring rate. Everything is stock as far as lifters push rods and rockers. Wifey brought me my stash of valve train parts, O'Rileys just happened to have the valve cover gaskets, and we had everything done by Sunday night. Engine runs great with 70 lbs. oil pressure cold. Now I need to work up the courage to really hammer the beast. Gun shy about breaking something else...............................MO

Brewers has (had) transmission gaskets that are no sealer required. Thats what I used and no leaks.........................MO

The brewers gasket was thicker and better quality. Don't remember where I bought the first gasket.
In another thread someone else broke a rocker shaft. Was yours a factory shaft?

Just went to Autozone and blew a bunch of money, Duralast brand: 2 ton cherry picker, 1000lb. engine stand, 3 ton floor jack, four pair of 5 ton jack stands. They gave me about a $65.00 dollar discount off regular price total.

Since the rear main seal replacement in my 318 '72 SSP project car did not result in a satisfactory result, I am going to "borrow" the recently rebuilt 318 in my '65 Formula S Barracuda and drop it in the Satellite for my upcoming 3000 mile road trip north. Have another '65 Valiant convertible that needs motor rebuild and total restoration, so my big purchase today could not be avoided any longer.

Squashed my little finger. Moving trans forward on trans jack tail shaft with trans mount the stud pinched to jack. Didn't have trans far enough forward to square it up to blow shield. Another day another screw up. See what tomorrow brings.

That other thread was probably me ! Yes, they were factory shaft. My ego not so large that I can't admit--I may have screwed up. Possible I assembled the rocker arm assemblys and was going to set the torque on them , and forgot to do it -- Considering that it has happened on both sides. And.. I may have" old timers " disease. LOL .........................MO

I really like LA 318's. We have had several in the family cars. My 68 Satellite project has a good 318, and I am going to keep it.................................MO

Yesterday and today put trans in 65 Dodge. Just need to put upper bolt in on shifter, from inside car and put shift lever on. Tomorrow a little work on LCA's Tighten them up while they were hanging. Should have had them closer to ride height.
