What did you do to your Mopar today?

Worked for HOURS last night and today to install a Universal fit driveshaft loop. Hotter than Hades in a metal building. Simple job? ... WRONG ! Of course it needed modifications to fit and the front seat and carpeting had to be moved around. On the plus side , it looks good and will do the job...if needed.......................MO

Spa day for the 14 Charger
Change oil
Rotate tires
New rotors and pads
All went well until......
Immediately noticed the pads were wrong, and new rotors were too small.
No problem, take them back. 6 mile round trip, except my local NAPA didn't have the correct ones. "I'll overnight them for ya", uh no, not for an additional $42.
Spent the rest of the day calling and touring parts houses all telling me I had the correct ones in the first place.
Wrong!
In Ma Mopars infinite wisdom, they decided to throw HD Police package brakes on a V6 AWD run of the mill Charger. 7 hours and couple hundred miles later, the brakes got done. I know, it cost me more than $42 to do all that running around, but it was 85 + degrees and a top down Wrangler made it more fun.
Today it's the RR turn, unless I have to go get parts.

Having a pleasant day setting lash on my rockers, until I got a visitor. Walked right up to the 2 open bay doors - we both jumped about 2 ft. Pic is him beatin feet across the front yard. Sorry for bad pics, through screen on side window.

I know how you feel, and a little too close.

Tighten shifter and put on shift lever.

Wacko that'll get the old heart beating for sure! Today new frt shocks& frt sway bar links from Classic. Kids said to wait for cooler weather- well I got a fan in garage & they're probably at a bar watching the Indians play. Glory glory everything went well for the first time in awhile.

Don't forget, Napa Adaptives for the pads for the new Charger. Quiet and clean.

Got to show my dad what I did last weekend. He had an MRI on his brain tumor after his last round of chemo to see what the next steps for radiation are and my mom has been down and wanted my son to spend the night with them to cheer her and "Grampie" up, so they stopped by and he didn't have the energy but got out of the car and wanted to see the R/T and what I had done. I polished the door sills and bought some chrome tape to redo the dash and glove box. Made him smile. This is why I bought the car. No words can say what it means to me. Good day.

Looks like we were doing the same thing today. Planning a trip to Canada to visit Goon I figured I'd go over the Charger with the valves being #1 on the list. Pleasantly surprised by the lack of adjusting needed:thumbsup:

Seeing that nice Mopar and spending some time with a grandkid is sure to cheer them up. BTW thanks again for the high density foam. My knee has healed enough that I can get around pretty good now. Wifey is also getting good from it--long knee pad for weeding her flowers........................MO...

How and what did you use to make the door sills look so good ? Mine need that treatment.....................MO

Got my car back from the shop after being gone a month. Removed my vent window pivot & installed a new one, painted my newly installed shocks flat black, tried installing my hood mounted turn signals wiring but the lights stopped working so gotta di deeper into that and went to my 2nd show of the season.

It did. I talked to Mom last night and you could hear it in her voice. She has been having as hard a time mentally dealing with everything as my dad has physically. I know she needs a boost too.

Man I am glad to have helped and glad your knee is doing better! And you'd be amazed at the things you find uses for it! Table foot stabilizer, rattling car part silencer, sharp corner protector, and on and on... Get some good use out of it, I know I do!

My anodizing has worn off so I sanded and polished them. Now that they are done, I just polish them up with Blue Magic about every 6 months. Stuff works great! Here is how I got then to what you see.

1. Blue Magic polish on with a tooth brush lightly to start. Let it dry some what, then buff lightly with a paper towel leaving some for the first polishing pad to work in.
2. Then I sand using a 3m medium grade steel wool pad, grey
3. Sand with Grade 1 steel wool
4. Sand with 3M fine grade pad, white
5. Sand with Grade 00 steel wool
6. Heavier application of Blue Magic with a tooth brush and buff with heavier pressure with a paper towel.

Now I just use a light coat of Blue Magic and buff with a paper towel. Occasionally you might need to use the fine steel wool before the Blue Magic, but that's about it. I did the same for my hood lip molding and grill surround until I can afford to have them redone and anodized.

Cleaned up garage, sanded down the final fender and doorshell. Now only the roof and pillars left to sand down and prime.

Went and picked up another 440 shortlock, recently rebuilt , new rods, piston, arp..looks like a lot of work done to the crank. Also picked up a 400 block.

Paul didn't know about your pops, we'll keep him in our prayers for a speedy recovery and total remission. Take care!

I'll title this one: Highway Blues...

Had plans to meet up with an old friend & his wife today to show off the car. He has a 78 Vette. Got up early mounted my broken door mirror by affixing it with a big glob of steel putty & siliconed it in, felt great to now have it on. Detailed the car and took a shower.

Headed out & filled up with gas and got onto the highway. 20mins later going down a big hill had a funny shudder on the left front tire but seemed to go away & figured it was the uneven pavement. Continued for a bit then heard a grinding noise. Pulled over & looked under the hood & under the car but didn't see anything. Got back in a drove about a 1/4 mile & it started up again but now I could feel something grinding. Pulled over & called Haggerty for a flatbed. To add insult to injury somewhere in all of this one of my hood turn signal lenses dropped out along the highway & now need to get a new set....

Called the shop that had been working on the car (good thing I kept the guy's cell #) 2hrs later met him at the shop and headed here for a few cold ones & food. BOY did this beer rock! Great Brewery if your in the area! Stratford had a big Corsair (Chance Vought) plant here during the war.

To be continued....
