What did you do to your Mopar today?

The past few days finish weld collectors to h-pipe.
Put in driveshaft yesterday today was install h-pipe day. Enlarge collector bolt holes 1/32".
Have 1/2" thick aluminum to adapt headers to collectors. Had studs in the adaptors and wasn't going to use them, until I broke a Remflex gasket.
Decided to use studs so Remflex gaskets would be in place and not screw up another one. So putting studs in the last one wouldn't go in, crap. Go looking through my taps no bottom tap, didn't want to remove adapter. Had a crap 3/8" 16 tap and made a bottom tap, chased thread. After some wrestling was able to get h-pipe on to studs without breaking a gasket. Those Reflex gasket do compress nicely, had dead soft aluminum gaskets, leaked badly.

The gas gauge in the 1955 Plymouth isn't working. So, I pulled the sending unit and found the resistance was the same with the float up as with the float down. So, for the time being, I picked up an inexpensive gauge/sending unit and gauge pod to mount under the dash. I took the top off the OEM sender and took the aftermarket sender apart. I mounted the top of the OEM unit onto the aftermarket unit's guts.

Took 65 Dodge off off jackstands. Was going to prime and start engine. Screwed around working on freezing my credit, dam Equifax. Hope when I start it's quieter after welding up leaky joints. Changed to Remflex collector gaskets from leaking dead soft aluminum.

Finally busted out the dimple die set that I bought a while back to attempt to use it ( and see how it goes )

- Tested on a piece of scrap metal before moving to a test on the car . . . and here's the result . . .

Then I found a little area in the car that looked like a good candidate . . . and gave it a try there - here's the result . . .

Pretty happy with the results - and I've got a way to do it with relative "ease" . . .

Ripped/cut out the entire housing I originally built for the 66 T Bird taillights. I studied on it for a while and decided to build a plate that attaches to what's left of the original rear wall, after I get that attached i'll cut another layer of 20 ga to go over it that butts up to the original layer. this will give it rigidity, put it at the right spot for the lights to line up with the tail extensions and provide some meat to bolt the tail light body to afterwards. I also folded the top edge over so it meets up with the rear edge of the trunk lip. I will get pics tomorrow so it will make more sense.:icon_fU:
Okay, so, pics.....

Used mine to help get the laundry dry.... (First World problems)

Today was adjust torsion bars, car was to low. Corrected a mistake when I rebuilt front end. Tightened up LCA pivot shaft at full hang. Loosened them up and jacked them up to mid-travel and retightened them up, now suspension works. Started a thread on ground clearance, please chime in.

Soooo went to a car show & got the juices flowing, then got on here & browsed & browsed. Then I decided to follow my own advice & dumped a cup of water thru carb because of a little "pock-pock" oughta the exhaust; sound is gone so I guess the carbon is gone too!

So I haven't really done a whole lot lately other than spend money acquiring parts...& a few tools...
QA1 lca & strut rods, 500 tail panel &,lights, 500 door emblems.
About a month ago I bought a Power Probe test light...I wasn't sure how much more benefit I would get compared to my Fluke and 12v test light but if anyone is wondering the same thing...let me tell you it's an awesome little tool! It's a cheaper ebay model $67...If you do a lot of electrical work or need help trouble shooting I highly recommend it.
Also my buddy at the welding supply co couldnt get me a cheaper price on the Square Wave Tig so I went ahead and ordered it today...cant wait to try it out!
