What did you do to your Mopar today?

Got my Coronet R/T back from the paint shop prison. They quoted 2 weeks but it took them 3 months to paint the new hood, scoops, fenders and blend the doors. Mostly because pf their screw ups dragging the job out longer by having to redo things several times.

Now I have to clean the clear over spray and buffing compound mess they left in my formerly pretty engine bay. They also ruined my new battery cables by chewing up the connections with their jump starter.

For the record, if you are in Oklahoma avoid ECL Body Shop like the plague.

Lesson learned.
You KNOW we want pictures!

Finished putting in a Pertronix billet distributor. It was considerably less than an MSD and since it's a street car, that was my choice. I've been running Pertronix conversions in stock distributors for a while and really liked 'em. The Pertronix let me put more initial timing in and then limit the total to 36 degrees. This seems to work with the gas I can buy around here. Also had to make a couple changes on my battery box because my new battery was slightly taller.
I have pertronix in my Road Runner. Free Advice- keep a spare in your glove box. I was at a show last year and it failed on me.

installed the radio and it works ..... speaker sounds like poop .... put the defroster tubes back in her .... cleaned up the new air cleaner ..... put the knock-off wheel covers on as well. ... If I keep messing around she mite be a good driver. till snow fly'z anyway

Since I removed everything from the cab I had a chance to finally toss the old dash frame I had used to mock up the roadster panels. I took a bunch of measurements and scoped out the angles and curves to weld up a real mounting bar to hook that seat topper onto. Going to use the thickest sheet metal steel the brake will bend, need about 10 1/2 inches to bend the facing side and another 5 + inch slab to cover the backside for rigidity and two more chunks to cover the ends. I will need to leave a few openings big enough to get my mitts up in there though to put nuts and bolts together. I also figured out the measurements to get the 1/2 " deep trough down the middle centered and if I use my pals 8 ft brake I think we can do 'er all in one piece. My only concern is where the quarter window crank handle will end up next to the bar. Doing it this way gives me loads of free space behind the seats where I can put spare tire, Battery box, parts, tools, food etc...the vertical panels behind each seat I can do out of stiff hard board or something. Also will fab the center tunnel down sweep to meet the console.

Went to the gun shop and whacked the new front sway bar. Twice. If I had it to do again,...

Loaded the `cuda ragtop for the painter's on Monday. Cleaned the shop some.....

I had to fabricate a harness for my console lights. Had to do it twice though because I wasn't thinking and wired the shifter indicator light in with the interior lights......Duh!

Pertronix III-- exchange the whole points plate, no sleeve reluctor, triggers off the stock points cam , multi spark, no air gap, no adjustment , no condensor, no external box . Built in adjustable rev limiter. all in a simple to install module that fits inside your stock dist. Keep your stock points and plate with you, and easily re-install in case there is a failure. I doubt I would trade it for an MSD..........................MO

I did scrape my Hotchkis too a few weeks back transitioning from a driveway to the street. We're gonna have to learn to drive these things like lowered Hondas

Just glazed it down with some Meguiars.

I spent several hours cleaning buffing compound residue off my formerly pristine engine bay since the numbskulls at the paint shop neither bothered to protect it or clean it up properly after buffing the fenders and hood. :realcrazy::mad::mob::mad:

That's a big club my friend...

Finally picked up a 1/2 sweep column mount Tach for the old Poly. Just like we used back in the day - very retro. Took about three hours to install & works like a champ. Doesn't make the old girl any faster but sure looks good!

Ordered it from the Mooneyes store for $82. U.S. By the time it reached me it was up to $150. Cdn! Ouch.
