What did you do to your Mopar today?

Spent the day yesterday cleaning up the garage and tossing out copious amounts of crap that didn't need to be in the way. Also built a new section of bench across the back wall. Disassembled one of the buckets seats upholstery to see what is involved in recovering it. Pretty simple really. Each seat appears to be about 20 square feet of leather and a few pieces of velour and carpet material. And lots of strong thread. lol. These seats have a net pocket across the back and a 4 inch deep pocket across the front below the knees, both of these features will be ditched. The supplier is giving me a 20 hide purchase discount even though I may only buy one hide, or maybe two. So that equals $5.30 sq ft per hide that averages 44-48 sq ft per hide. So around $250 bucks. Pretty good deal for Scandinavian leather from Elmosoft!

Yesterday was the rearrangement of all the vehicles for winter slumber, and in the shop to be completed while the cold and snow take hold. Lots more to do...and I'll also be throwing a butt-load of stuff out. Most isn't worth the time to pkg and drive around to ship.

Before you throw anything away see if there is a local Mopar group that would want it. I just sold an open 741 with 2.76 and 2 axles to a guy 7 minutes from me I didn't know existed who is in Central Oklahoma Mopar Association. I had stumbled onto a forum on Facebook for buying and selling Mopar parts and vehicles. He saw the ad and 30 minutes later he owned the parts I was about to give up on ever selling or even giving away. I made some quick cash, he got some parts he could use, another Mopar will be kept on the road and new friends were made.

So, see if there is a local car group or FB group before you toss your stuff. Remember, some people's trash is other people's treasure, according to Fred Sanford.

Ghost my question is - why the upgrade? My oem torsion bars work just fine. Not condemning, just curious.

So did mine. They were in the way of the gas tank that's going inside up over the axle hump.

Finally got the K-frame and both LCA back from powder-coating.

Was out on a drive last Sunday and tranny began slipping close to home, thank god! Turn car off & gears engage, put a little touch to the gas peddle rpms go up but hardly any power to the gears.

Once home, checked fluid which needed a topping off due to a little leak (it's a mopar to be expected..). Added some fluid, backed up, went forward, seemed ok. Got out on the street & the slippage started up again.

Called the shop for the flat bed & as I expected Tranny needs a rebuild due to worn clutches. Will be interested to see if this is the 1st rebuild based on what they find inside.

I fabricated the lower tail extension filler panel to go in between the lower section of each tail extension. I used 20 ga steel and welded it permanently in place. So the rear is finished as far as sheet metal fabrication except for some clean up and sanding for primer.
And it only took me three years!
