What did you do to your Mopar today?

What did you do to your Mopar today?

I peeled out a few times in mine. I took it out to get a few things for dinner and ended up cruising around for over an hour. I turned some corners, idled in traffic, drove fast when I could and parked it waaaaaaaaay away from other cars!

The paint shop got over spray on my chrome lug nuts and wheels. I had the wheels polished and I cleaned my nuts with paint stripper. Ouch! lol

I didn't want the threads to rust so I popped them in the oven for 10 minutes on low. I couldn't resist the pun when I took them out to cool.

New water pump and belt tensioner on the 92 Dakota.
It aint a B body but its the only MoPar I have.
Dammit.

Just got it back from the shop with a new gas tank and a new 19" fan. Drove it to work like I stole it :D

Drilled 4 - 6/32 set screws with .024 hole to restrict gas in the idle circuit on my crossram Holley's. The set screws are brass with a 1/16" hole solder shut. My electric drill will only hold a .028 drill, so had to hand drill through 3/32" of solder on each one. Drill can break like nothing took about half and hour. Remove bowl and metering block and changed 2 set screws in block. Reinstalled bowl and block, The set screws I removed had .030 holes. Cracked secondary plates a hair so I can close primaries more. One carb done tomorrow the second and put them back on the engine.

Changed to .024 drilled set screw in the idle feed on second carb. Hopefully this will reduce amount of gas at idle. Cracked secondarys so I can cover the transfer slots more. Put carbs back on manifold.

Base coat, clear coat; original color. Better half won't go to a car show w/o a paint job(on the car!). More than one person said go yourself, hah. Couldn't believe the frt bumper bracket bolts came out after 49yrs. It won't in the end be anywhere near yours Justin.

Today I centered the dash console. I centered the dash before and now worked on the console which had been a problem before in getting in at the correct angle under the sound system and ashtray. I fought with it for an hour and finally got it right and it is exactly in the center of the car now. However....lol. Unintended consequences popped up. The seats don't line up with the contoured portions of the wing behind them. If I place the seat where I am sitting centered behind the steering wheel then it's off to the passenger side by 4 inches. If I place the seat where the back lines up with the wing of the seat topper it's then offset from the steering wheel and right up close to the door. That makes it a problem to get at the seat controls. The only solution I can think of would be to slice the seat topper in the center and take a couple of inches out of it to move the wing sections closer together and thereby solve both issues. But....lol. That has another consequence. The chrome plate that mounts in the center of the topper would have to be shortened too.....Opinions please? The one pic is of the top of the dash center showing it is lined up exactly with the center tab of the windshield gutter..

Just doing the engineering stuff on the Gen III/wagon project. So close, but so far....

I needed to add antifreeze to the system so I took the opportunity to make a video while it was getting up to temperature.

You've seen the videos where the owner walks around the car and it will make you about half dizzy watching it. I was told a long time ago that when useing a video camera you take pictures. Take a shot, press "pause", move to another shot, press "play", ect.

This video is done useing my phone and just taking shots, no editing. The car isnt show worthy but you get the idea. You could edit the footage by placing "fades" in between the shots.

Thats exciting news that your are getting the exterior painted!

You should do a thread on that here?

The old butyl sealer on the trim...ouch! That changes everything on the removal.....Imagine if you were trying not to scratch the paint and removing that....
