What did you do to your Mopar today?

Only had about a hour, so I made a rocker end cap.

Cut, re-clocked, and welded the water-pipes for the 6.4, then took them over to QC Coatings.

Yesterday drove it to a customers country office about an hour each way , what a great way to travel .
Air was crisp they like to run in the fall weather .

This morning put the cover back on ..

Waxed and sealed it, took it to a local cruise-in. I was the only classic car there, lots of exotics and modern muscle cars.

Pull a fresh set of plugs in my 65 Dodge after work on the carbs. Started it but sounded like it was a six cylinder, couple of plugs fouled.

At the very top is the XV lower radiator support, this needs to welded at the very front of the frame rails.
Hellwig 1.375" hollow sway bar.
PST rebuilt LCA.
PST solid steel tie rod sleeves, tie rods, ball joints, pitman and ilder arm.
Firm Feel kit on K-frame.
Hotchkis strut rods.
Firm Feel 1.06"D torsion bars.
All new.

Bilstein RCD Shocks, Firm Feel.
Firm Feel Tubular LCA.
Both of these have been on the car for a while.

Had to cut the sheet metal to get the XV radiator at the very front, anything less will likely interfere with the K-frame.
Trans cooler.

Well I pulled the fuel tank and finally replaced the sender ! It was reading 0 then might work thought it was the wiring I was very wrong sender was trashed. So now I have 3/4 of a tank of fuel ! Then I moved on to the wheel bearing that turned out to be a tie rod end so I didn't have any of those in-stock so that's another day !

Found a door design I could live with, an arrangement of components in the space available. After several variations using different bits of the Audi door panels I concluded that there was no good way to mount the contoured parts to the flat door and have them look right. If I had shrinkers and stretchers and an English wheel and hammer dolly machine etc. well then I could put together a total custom one off door panel. But...I don't. So. I sunk the Audi door handle section into the doors upper panel just like it was in the Audi plastic panel and drilled holes for the mounting pins on the back of the woodgrain insert strip to mount that on there too. It sits at the same level as the trim section curving around on the dash. I sunk the CD changer button panel and tip out storage bin along the bottom of the door but the jury is still out on whether it will stay or not. The door pull handle w/ power window switch and door lock will go in place next, somewhere on the door. I will not be using the original inside door latch and handle release. There is a small speaker in the Audi door handle section and another 6 inch will go on the upper rear part of the door. The Audi front door handle sections are nicer but curved so I used the ones from the back doors instead which are flat. It's coming along...

I took the windshield and rubber gasket out of my 68 Sport Satellite, and was very pleased that there was no rust underneath it. The glass shop has the new windshield and gasket , and I ordered new trim clips from 521 restorations. Jeff is a very good vendor and gives us FBBO folks a discount............................MO

Today?
I continued bodywork on a 65 Dart. This is a car that I never wanted. A Car club buddy called me and asked me to buy it in December 2015. The last 4 or 5 cars that I bought found ME.

Screwed with the wagon, some more. Got all the fittings, hose, and water-pipes arranged, removed some of the old stuff from the cowl, lowered the car on the torsion-bars...but ran out of suspension-travel. Now I have to put dropped-spindles into it. This is getting to be as big a project as the `cuda. I also placed the Charger grill into the front opening....NOT GOOD! The a/c condenser is in the way for one of the headlights to rotate. GRRRRRRR!! More design and parts changes.

Ya gots ta think ahead pal...

The grille is an addition to a car that's not mine. I had all the mechanicals done. This is the 3rd build of this car............sigh.

Wow. got to be frustrating. This kind of hiccup is why I sit on a HD bucket for hours staring and thinking before I open a tool chest. I really hate doing things over because I didn't contemplate an obvious potential problem like spacing and clearances. Those flip lights don't leave a hell of a lot of room for error. I feel your pain Mike.
