What did you do to your Mopar today?

Thanks, some of us do this silly stuff. It started out as my killer/grocery-getter. then his the full-on sleeper. ..with comfort add-ons, and now......resto-mod. He's my best-friend, and I have a hard time saying no. He can't do the stuff, but likes to have cool cars. I have lots of my own stuff to do....but will work this in for the last time. It should be cool.

Got the spindles out. Went faster, but not easier than I expected. Need some new Wilwood bolts, a couple boots, and some cotter-pins. Anybody need powder-coated drum-brake spindles?

Heater hose setup. Cut, clocked ends, welded, and coated water-pipes. New fittings and hoses. Got to do wiring, before final assembly to the pipes/hoses.

I managed to smash my hand 3-times, with my BMFH. It's all swelled-up.

Embarrassed myself a little...guy in one of those hot lil subaroos with the tail wing and hood scoop got next to me at a light...revved his motor at me..coast was clear...didn't think I hit it too hard buut..I spun my dang tires for 60' and let off when she pitched a little..gassed it again got halfway to 3rd gear and saw him a few lengths behind me. Before I hit 3rd it was over, we'd had our fun...nothing too crazy. I guess it wasn't all bad lol...big empty 3-lane roads can be fun on quiet saturday mornings...

Looked over my 1970 GTX to see what needed replacing, so far a couple metal patches, trunk pan, rear window, driver side floor pan, etc.

Be careful with those subarus. Those wrx/sti cars are sub 13 second quarter mile cars.

I agree. If you race a good import car, with stock old-iron. You'll probably get your butt handed to ya. Hell, I'd race anybody's truly stock 340/383 car...with my minivan.

Ya my brother had one for awhile, really fun quick little car-- I thought I was a goner when I didn't hook up right away.. those things are all-wheel drive with turbo..

Wanna sell your minivan?! haha most people think mine is a worn-out heap, it needs a paintjob for sure..a neighbor asked me, "does it run okay? it sure sounds like it's missing or something! why does it sound like that!" Looked like a deer in headlights when I said "cam in a big-block" lol. It's enough for me for a street car, really nothing special, but a 12-sec shooter easy based on past experience..but I know I need to run it down the strip or it might as well be on jackstands!

I had a few year-old SS, V8 Camaro try to right-lane-merge me, at a red light. I know the light well, and probably put a 00 light on him. It took him about 800 ft. to get beside me, and I had to let him in...or he'd gone into the ditch where it narrowed. He wasn't amused.

I pushed my car out, covered the dash with plastic as windshield and top are not on and gave it a washing. Its going (i hope) to interior guy this week and i wanted it nice and clean.

Yesterday started 65 Dodge to see if what I did to xram carbs worked. One side still to rich and other side to lean.
Today removed carbs leaned the rich side and richen the lean side. Waiting for weather to drive it.

Here I was under the impression that you were an 'expert' carbuuretor guy? Lol, nobody is, we just get lucky sometimes!

The wife always asked, "are you really that good a mechanic"? I always said if you doubt yourself, then you won't be very good. Give me two tries on a cold engine & I'll dial in ur choke to perfection. Start that blasted thing & drive away right now! Somebody has to able to do it.. Where's 'ranger16'(?) he always brings up choke operation also!!!

Going thru withdrawal symptoms- can't look at car for answers. At the paint shop.

This weekend, on the newest Charger, I was pretty busy. Changed a wheel lip molding with a better one I had in stock, reinstalled the carburetor, changed out the + & - battery cables, ground strap, installed the correct starter attaching hardware, fixed the radio antenna wire, installed the brackets on the left inner fenderwell that hold the speedo cable & + cable, changed some underhood hardware cleaned some of the grime off of the front end, greased the chassis & U-joints (found out my pitman arm was sloppy), removed the radio (for repairs), pulled the back seat to remove 1 aftermarket seat belt, pulled the rear seat side panels to lube up the window wheels & tracks, cleaned the interior side panels & reinstalled, aligned and lubricated the right door so it would close better, removed lower left door hinge and rebuilt it with a new larger diameter pin & spring, vacuumed interior. There's probably a few more things I did that I can't remember.

Still managed to help out the wife a bit on yard work outside after our new driveway was laid down (on Saturday).
