Installing a diaphragm style McLeod pressure plate to replace the Borg and Beck 3 finger McLeod pressure plate that broke at 2 years old, maybe 1500 miles of cruising and one day at the 1320 with about a dozen romps down the track that day...
Going to be at my best buddy's garage at his house, that has a lift. All finished with removal of old parts. Have today and tomorrow to reinstall everything in time for my birthday tomorrow!

If the Mc Leod diaphragm is like the Centerforce, you are going to really like it. Please let us know if your instructions tell how to pull the throw out bearing away from the clutch ( pressure plate) so it doesn't rub. Assuming you leave the pedal over center spring off. .......................MO

I walked by it while it was parked & covered in the garage today!

It was warm today, so I started stripping down the seat frames on the 1955 Plymouth so I can reupholster them. The rear seat back still stinks of mouse urine even though it's been apart for about a year. There's no way anything but the metal parts can be reused. Even the metal springs are corroded from the urine.

An ozone generator could take care of stink, stains that something else. Know little about ozone machines or renting them.

Actually considered selling the GTX today. Have a close friend that wants to buy it and I just may let it go after 47 years. Can you imagine the nut twister that is....?

Don't do it - love those and nice ones are hard to find . I remember telling the wife I wanted to sell my car once pay some stuff off and her reaction was you'll never get another remember that .
If you just tired of owning it 47 years is a long time and looking for a change that's different .

Think a lot about that. Sell it and buy BB. Problem what to do with extra cash? Put it the bank and have the IRS come calling.

No instructions came with either of the 2 WRONG pressure plates I have got from Summit. Another weekend pissed away, my car still on my buddy's lift...
I'm calling Brewer's on Monday since I bought my billet steel flywheel from them and find out what the correct pp is. I may go with a Centerforce after all.
I have never had an over center spring on it although it had a 3 finger Borg and Beck style pp in it when I installed the McLeod.
My left knee gives me some pain anyway, I think a diaphragm style pp will fix that.

The push is so easy you'll think it's broken.

Please let us know what they say. I used to hate diaphram pressure plates back when my left leg was strong!. At 6000 rpm shifts , they would stick the pedal to the floor and way over rev the engine. I am now absolutely sold on my Centerforce clutch combo, and would never again use the three finger style.................................MO
