What did you do to your Mopar today?

Finished the seats on the '55 Plymouth yesterday and took it to a car show today.

Tried some paint stripper on the engine bay sure works good.

I removed my bucket seat headrests today using the oil down the posts and let soak a few minutes. I pulled up and down a few times and they popped right out. Thanks okiemopar for the tip.

I found this photo on FABO:

The Charger is off the rotisserie now, and is in the final stages before paint, panel alignments, final body work & sanding etc... it's been a while.

I had a supposedly professional shop work on my car several years ago when I was overseas. Part of what they did was install a Firecore distributor. Somehow, they butchered the harness in such a way that the engine would start, but the starter wouldn't disengage. A local old school mechanic was able to trace out the wiring, figure it out, and install a relay so it all worked properly. I finally got tired of looking at that relay screwed to the inner fender and just reinstalled the Mopar Performance distributor, orange box, and ballast resistor with a wiring harness I had hanging in the garage. I also installed a new forward light harness. I picked up a point ignition harness and may go back to the Firecore at a later date. But, I needed the car to be running as I'm waiting my turn to get it into the body shop for paint.

One step forward--two steps back....Got all the new interior installed, along with the 6 way power seat base. Crawled under the car and inspected the new dual exhaust ---hate it ! Hangs down and no reason it couldn't have been closer to the floor. He will have to make it right. Received the left side parking brake cable and shoe struts. Inner cable is not the right length . I will have to figure out the problem . ...............................MO

Got tired of misaligned pulleys and belts and installed a CVF Racing bracket and pulley set. As I'm not yet sure if I'm switching the alternator, I didn't yet change that pulley.

I started my Hemi Coronet for the first time this season. It has been about seven years and 300 miles since the first start on the fresh engine.
The gas gauge showed just over 1/4 tank of -seven-year-old- stuff so off I was to test the fuel gauge with a fill-up.
A local station has non-ethanol premium and a fill took 14.8 gal. My gauge now reads past full so it seems to work just fine.
The bad news is -that gas was $4.99 per gal. EEK--- The additional good news is the car runs noticeably better and restarts instantly. (never has before with the old mystery mix).

Good...now drive that sucker! Don't let us catch you posting in 2025 that you have seven year old gas in your tank again. :)

I promise to play with my car.:)
BTW am I due for my first oil change yet with seven-year-old oil and 300 miles?:p

I already tossed a set of brand new 38-year-old tires because of their age. I did expect this car to run many years ago.
