What did you do to your Mopar today?

We got Fred out and ran about for some last minute local stuff.
Temps warmed up to the mid 50's in front of that big nasty winter storm front coming later today.
I wanted to see how my nifty new battery tender was working and sure enough,
he turned over after a week or two of sitting really well and fired right up. :)

Pics man.

As for mine, got it a little wet because I was washing the Camaro beside it...

that sounds familiar

The same thing I've done all year. I walked by it, patted it on the trunk lid and said, Hi car!

Battery tenders rock. I have one in every bay, plugged into the overhead outlet that feeds the door opener. Tail hangs down for easy access. Toy cars (and bikes) can sit plugged in all winter and fire right up when the spring flowers bloom. Those, and Sea Foam, are 2 things my garage will never be without!

Got tired of staring at wiring diagrams, and went to the garage with my test leads and multimeter and got all the dash lighting sorted out in my '70 Charger. My dash dimmer wheel is dead, so I figured out how to bypass it , built and installed a jumper wire, and verified that now, all dash lights simply turn "on" when I turn on the headlights. All sockets work, just a smattering of dead bulbs. Waiting for new LED bulbs to show, then I can put it all back together (not looking forward to that speedo cable...).

I also pulled all four side marker lights - 2 worked, 2 didn't, and I ordered a ton of those bulbs so I pulled the markers out for cleaning, troubleshooting, and prep for new bulbs. Lenses came in and got cleaned in the kitchen (LOVE being a bachelor!) along with one SUPER-crusty socket. Got some clear RTV for when they get reassembled, to keep the water at bay from now on. The foam baseplate is...questionable, so I'll do it myself when I rebuild them. Invisible, but durable. And I don't need to get back in there anytime soon since they're getting LED bulbs as well.

I also pulled the taillights. Pulled the lenses and brought them inside to clean as well, and shot a fresh coat of "chrome" spraypaint on the reflectors to try and brighten things up a bit back there. Should be invisible while sitting, but hopefully the taillights will be a bit brighter now.

All this, and I didn't let any smoke out of the wiring!! Kept the jar closed for another day...

F**k that's nice.

I did the same thing with my dimmer wheel.

Got the hood and trunk lid out of their storage area and onto stands for final prep and blocking. Last of the large pieces!

Put the 73 Road Runner on the trailer to tow it up to my father-in-law's place.

This car is nothing special and not worth a whole lot of money (it's a well equipped 73, with a 340, 727 & 3.55). It is a bit rough around the edges and the body and interior need some TLC. Also, the engine threw a rod so now I am slowly working on a stroked 340 for it. What IS special is it's my first car I owned, so it has been titled to me since 1981. My son and I now co-own it. It was his first car too that he used all through high school and college.

3.55 not too common in 73.

What better time than a shutdown week to borrow the spray booth at work to finally get the steelies done the right way. Had them blasted to bare metal, after that I etch primed, filler primed, 3 coats of Shop-Line JB MM1 Turbine Bronze base (Ditzler 60492), 3 coats of Shop-Line JC630 polyurethane clear and voila, lookin better than ever. Bought a new inexpensive hvlp gun for this job. Worked out great. Do you need to spend a lot on a high end gun to get really nice results? No. If I ran a shop that I relied on my gun to earn a living? Then yes. All depends on your situation.

Big, stinky burnouts. Got 'The Look' from wife on last one.
Gave her 'The Look' & nailed it again.
We both smiled, all is well.
Happy New Year's Eve!

Put new plugs in today. I forgot what a pain in the *ss the #3 and #5 are to get out and back in again.
