This was yesterday but I finally have my Trans linkage ajusted close to what it needs to be and was able to drive it for more than five minutes. Started to run a little hot but it was 105 degrees and I was stuck in a little bit of traffic just sitting otherwise it was great.

Got the 8.75 rear reworked. Yippeeee! can't wait to do the install!!!

drove it to the shop to get the exhaust done.... they have had it for a week now..LOl I'm a bit worried. I know the manifolds needed to come off and be resealed as they leaked bad..LOL and I had a growling front wheel bearing and asked him to swap the plugs and check the timing.. BUT he's had it for a long time now and I'm scared for the bill...hahahahaha It was going to be 275 to run the duals alone including materials which I thought was a decent price.... But now YIKES !!! He cant be working on it solid for a whole week ??

he`s been driving the **** out of it!:headbang:

Drove by the shop, no tail pipes yets.... either he's waiting on parts or more urgent work came in. He's giving me a break on pricing so I'm sure it gets bumped for more important work. Its not a daily driver or anything so its not an issue as far as I'm concerned....

can only imagine how loud it is with open manifolds ..LOL he has to move it into his shop at night and pull it out in the morning

well being on this great site for awhile I thought really good about this thread I went out to the barn as always looked for it and said hi and told her maybe next year that I would start to bring her back to life

Got started on the gauge replacement/wiring repair.

1)Act like it's Christmas in July,as Santa Summit(via the FedEx sleigh) sent me(OK;the car) some shiny baubles. Sabrina likes shiny baubles, but only functional ones.

2) Prepared the work area. Helluva lot easier job to do with the seat removed.

3) Peruse fustercluck under the dash;curse past owners-again-and plan attack.

4)Consult with assistant,Louie the(neighbor's) cat.

Louie decided to go to sleep in the back seat while I got started;lotta bloody help he is. At least he doesn't critique my work.

Also was a good time to install some of the nice RCI harness I bought from SSR. I'll feel more secure than with the old original stuff. Oh Chris;are those up for a re-cert?

Well;back to it. Pics when done-hopefully tonight!

I did a bunch of last minute stuff for the enginen install tomorrow. Installed a few brake line brackets, built a throttle cable bracket, ground some clearance on the head for the ac hose connections, and moved the engine cradle over beneath the car. Picked up some high pressure fuel line for the fuel injection.

Ive been sitting so long with a bad foot, I did some weaving and hopping and took my cane and decided im going to the garage and pulled the front cover off the car and set there with some tunes! Enjoyed every dang min to!!

Cleaned the underside

Well, just finished shedding about 50lbs or better off the bottom. Cleaned and now painting with POR 15. I debated what to do and just decided to paint the bottom and undercoat wheel wells only. I can still paint it body color since the POR 15 is paintable. There is no rust left on the car. It also has the back half of a 4 door o it so there are some scars from that which I used seam sealer on.

I intend to re-undercoat mine after knocking off all of the loose stuff and sealing it all up. I like how it fills in all the small gaps and basically seals the bottom of the car...maybe i can keep it alive for another 45 years without any significant rust or work to be done!

Anyway I intend to do more trunk patch welding tonight so thats my "today" work.

Well, without the help(?) of my assistant,Louie(off chasing rabbits),I finished the gauge installation. Cleaned up the wiring mess as well. Also discovered a couple of things that may help someone else.

First,I had both the oil pressure gauge and the dash o.p light wired to the Auto-Meter sending unit. Fired the car up and no needle movement on the gauge, and the dash light was glowing. Hmmm...removed the wire for the idiot light, fired her back up and Voila! Oil pressure! Since I do want the dash light as well,I may have to make up a "T" arrangement to use both the A-M sending unit and the OEM style.

This was also nice to see:

My other issue is a possible voltage drain. I say possible;my gauge reads approximately 11.5-12 volts(after the pic was taken;it looks like 12.5 in the pic,but it dropped a bit),and it seems like I should see 12.5-13 when running. Double checked my connections, but something doesn't seem right. I'll have to get out and drive it and see if the battery drains.

Picked up my 383 at machine shop today. Hope to assemble it this weekend. They still have my heads though. I told him I'll be ready for them on Monday. Don't hold me up Dude!!

Big day! Got the engine in. Put the whole assembly in from the bottom. Worked like a champ! Started rebuilding the front suspension now that I have a k member to work from!
