What did you do to your Mopar today?

Nice helper

Got started on the gauge replacement/wiring repair.

1)Act like it's Christmas in July,as Santa Summit(via the FedEx sleigh) sent me(OK;the car) some shiny baubles. Sabrina likes shiny baubles, but only functional ones.

2) Prepared the work area. Helluva lot easier job to do with the seat removed.

3) Peruse fustercluck under the dash;curse past owners-again-and plan attack.

4)Consult with assistant,Louie the(neighbor's) cat.

Louie decided to go to sleep in the back seat while I got started;lotta bloody help he is. At least he doesn't critique my work.

Also was a good time to install some of the nice RCI harness I bought from SSR. I'll feel more secure than with the old original stuff. Oh Chris;are those up for a re-cert?

Well;back to it. Pics when done-hopefully tonight!

NICE HELPER the silent type, he should have been a great help with that "rats nest" of wiring...LOL...sorry

Still waiting on mine from the shop :icon_confused:

On a good note I fixed the Beamer.... And I made a decision about the Plymouth and selling it ... Not going to do it.. going to sell the Beamer instead  keep two cars.. the Camaro SS and the Sport Satellite... Its a Sport Satellite now as well.. Not a GTX clone... No insignia on the car except Plymouth.. I want a wing and new wheels the car will look as I want it

glad you're keeping it. you've done too much work to let her go.

I thought about it for a while and the kids and wife will not like the choice BUT its really a loigical decision. The Plymouth is new from the ground up. The Beamer has 231k on it and I've only replaced the water pump, radiator, surge tank, fan shroud, cam postion sensor and am looking at the foglights and headlight lenses..LOL BUT it would/will need constant upgrades until the major stuff is done.. all the stuff I just did to the Plymouth. I dont want to have to rebuild this car from the ground up and at a book value of only 4600.. its just not smart. Its an incredible car even for its age and gets looks still as well as 21 mpg.
The time to get out of this car is during the summer and soon I think. It will freeze you in your seat the ac is that good...LOL But I paid a lot less than book on it as the person I bought it from knew it needed a CPS and he couldnt do the work.

The Plymouth though is going to need A/C if I am keeping it and maybe a stereo ....

I have some black faux leather material to do the interior panels and plenty of sound deadening as well. The intention was to keep it but money and times are tough and tight and if I can get a decent price for any of my cars I have to sell them... Paying the mortgage and buying food is always more important than a car... I have 4 and my wife one...hahahaha

But its more than just that too.....
My car was/is a clone and as such doesnt draw much respect. Its a sport satellite and everyone wants a bird or a gtx or charger.. and on top of that it isnt completed the way I want and so I cant really be proud of it.. next to a well done roadrunner or gtx or charger it is second rate and I know it... I know I can do better the second time. By the time I'm done with the Z28 I'll be a lot better at it. But in the meantime the car looks exactly how I did it and it not something that makes me feel great to be honest. The only thing I see when I look at it are the imperfections..hahahaha
But I've got to suck it up and live with it because it was/is all me ...LOL

Cut out the weak spot under the battery tray in the Satellite. Hand beat a patch and got it real close to fitting for the butt-welding. Probably could have not repaired this spot, but while I got the engine out, I didn't want to be sorry about not fixing it later.

I prepped all the suspension parts for paint
p3053996-4.jpg

Then painted them with POR15 and hung them on a manly clothesline

Got the passenger side installed and worked on the new brake lines. Found out the torsion bar hits the header pretty bad. Will have to fix somehow.

I played around trying to find a short in the front running lights and the fuel gauge. Being the talented electrician I am, ended up driving to the mechanic, a close friend of mine, to get that taken care of. Picking up tomorrow. As someone else noted, I also rubbed the fender lovingly several times today.

tomorrow - after market fuel gauge and purchase of a v8 kmember to start the conversion from a s6 225ci to a 440.

Be proud, Look at all the crap you went thru to get this far! Because it doesn't have RM on the vin, you cant have fun? Come on, you went the distance on this car enjoy it, make it what you want when you can and have a ball until then, you don't have to do it all over night, even if it was done the way you want it, your always going to find something else to make it better...

Love coming to this thread and seeing all the great work being done.....

Keeps me riled up and back out in the garage.

Made a throttle cable bracket and and electric fuel pump bracket and painted them. Picked up the lower Moog ball joint at local auto parts and painted it. Install tomorrow. Hoping can get together and running in time for Nats. Beginning to worry!

Started to re-install my trans after the torque convertor went, on my way home from carlisle, 2 and a half hours from home. :angryfire: Should get done by friday, in time for cruise night. :headbang:
