What did you do to your Mopar today?

Worked on the 68 Charger today. Got the interior out back in. Painted some kick panels. Resealed the valve covers, hopefully no more leaks lol. Wish I could post a video got all the LEDs working in the dash. Also got the time delay light working for the ign switch. Installed new glovebox liner.

Is that simply a change to LED bubs or is something else done to get the dash lights that bright? They appear to be very bright, which looks nice.

I converted my Charger dash over to LED a while ago by simply ordering LED replacement bulbs. Nice and bright. My dimmer wheel doesn't work, so I just bypassed it and the LEDs are "on" whenever the headlights are on.

This weekend was shakedown time for my wagon. Bled the brakes all around so it would...well...stop. It runs (first time in nearly a decade; last week was new carb/new fuel tank/new fuel hoses), so I took it out, aired up the tires, put enough fuel in the new tank to get to the corner store and fill it up. I have to tune the carburetor. I have to figure out a clamp for the throttle cable (posted a thread in 71-74 about that one). I have to get new air shocks (big ol' hole) and possibly/probably new leaf springs (big sag on the left). But...IT RUNS! And, the SG rear still works - two nice black stripes up my driveway!

Did the same thing, converted to led, jumped the wire so the dash lights are full bright whenever lights where on, dimmer wheel was weird so went to full bright whenever lights where on.

they're not that bright. Visible, yes...glare, no. I left the green filters in place, its actually a very pleasant brightness level.

Did you guys use the LED Flasher?

for dash lights?? No. Dash lights are all I converted on mine. You only need the LED flasher if you have LED turn signal bulbs (exterior).

Thought that when you used led’s that the flasher was necessary to keep the flickering at bay. Learn something new everyday.

Only for newer vehicles, and usually only if you change high-output lights like headlight bulbs, do you need an anti-flicker 'encoder'. Vehicles that run CANBUS electronics don't always play nicely with LEDs, especially those that use the high beams at a reduced voltage (dimmed) for daytime running lights. The reduced voltage is what causes flicker.

The flasher is only for turn signals.

Other lights that are simply on or off...you're fine with LEDs with no other changes, as long as your vehicle puts out proper voltage. Most automotive LEDs are rated for use between something like 9-22VDC.

When LED bulbs for the house first started appearing none were dimmable; now you can get dimmable LED bulbs.

Do they now make dimmable LEDs for the dash? I haven't seen any yet, but maybe someone knows if they are now available?

Generally they are labeled as such, if they are. Yes, they are available, but you have to read the fine print or ask the seller.

Today was the first day I actually worked on the car since it came off the road in October. I had a nagging power steering pump leak, and new belts and hoses to install, so might as well do it all at once. I don't know how you would change the lower rad hose with the pump in place anyway.

Continued with the fluid changes on the daily driver Jeep Liberty CRD. Also have to replace the transfer case position indicator LVDT. What a PITA to get to.

Not so much what I done than what I bought for it. Got to brag about it so I feel less bad about spending what I spent on it. Original 68/69, unrestored, survivor deluxe steering wheel, half ring, and pad in black w/ original fratzog emblem. Came with everything pictured in pic 3 except for roadrunner and plymouth emblem.

Totally worth the price. Nice steering wheels are rare. NOS even more so. That looks fantastic.
