What did you do to your Mopar today?

Fired up the fresh 340 for the first time. Smoked for 10 min then........ Perfect! I'm as happy as a coyote with a roadrunner for dinner!

Had to drop the tranny and TC to find out why it wouldn't spin when bolted to the engine, than bolted it back together and everything is good now.

got new seat covers from legendary--any 67 gtx out there need a (black ) rear seat cover (top) .shame they don't or won't sell you what you need got to buy the whole set whether you need it or not my 2

looks sharp with those green accents... different but cool none the less

Thanks, I was looking for something different and was hoping I'd like the finished product. It's not like the car is an original anything so I don't feel bad doing odd things. If funds allow I plan on some taylor hot lime wires :)

Dropped the block, the girdle/cap kit, rods, freshly coated pistons, and the new crank off at the machine shop today. Hopefully I can get it back together soon so I can get some miles on it, and then get it to the dyno for a serious test and tune. I am dying to try out some of these new modded Prochargers that my buddy has at his shop!

just curious, to cr8crshr/Tuck or 69a100, does it have the throttle pressure valve hooked up to the properly adjusted linkage, at the carburetor ?? unless it has a manual valve body in that transmission, it will fry the trans quicker then stink covers on ****...

lovely day went for a tour of the neighborhood with all the typical thumbs up from everyone... tinkered with a few little things, I need to get motivated really soon, install a few parts I have already, before I get stuck doing nothing but house stuff yet again, instead of spending the money on my car this year...LOL...

Yes it is, we've even played around with different lenght adjustments and no change.

sounds like the clucthes at a minimum...

Yep...Most likely they are the culprit. Yesterday we...My Brother and I...worked on tuning the engine up really good. He has a unique gift when it comes to this fine tuning stuff. Not that I cannot do it if I were to have to, it just is easier to watch and learn from him. Thanks again Bro. Any way...we got the 383 purring like a ????. I had the initial way too high...around 30 and now it is more respectable at around 18 degrees BTDC. Smoothed out really nicely and the exhaust note is just freakin' awesome. Later after taking care of some other small things I will start to drive it and see if more work is needed which it most likely will. Got a small stumble initially but that is due to the jetting/metering of the Holley 750. So...while working this and putting up with the knocking I am still having, a MOPAR acquaintance stopped by to visit. He has a 426 cross ram Dodge 440/4speed and is a retired AF mechanic. He was listening to our knock and firmly believes it is in the tranny and most likely the flex plate causing this. When I had one of my re-builds of the 383, I had a HELL of a time getting the Flex Plate off the Crank and wound up "tweeking" it while getting it off. I straightened it as best I could and it seems that maybe I didn't. There are some nicks and dings on the Flex Plate bolts and the Flex Plate itself. Any way...in the next week or 2, I will limp it up to the tranny shop...just 6 blocks away, and have them check the tranny out and the Flex Plate. I am thinking that if in fact that is the case, I will have them swap out the stock Flex Plate for a round SFI unit either 10 3/4 or 11 inches. If I go 10 3/4 I will need a new torque converter and if I go 11, I can use the one I already have. I value this chap's knowledge and opinions so I am taking his info and run with it. So as it stands right now, the tranny and flex plate are the cause of the knocking noise. Just got to get her fixed and this 1966 Ply Sat will be on the road and the tires "SMOKIN'"....:blob1:

good luck buddy, that bent flexpalte {or cracked or loose, make a bad knocking noise too} will take out the converter & front pump too, I would highly suggest, that you "tow it" even flat tow, with a strap is a better idea, especially if it's only 6 blocks away, so you don't comlpetely wipe out the trans &/or put a ton of metal shaving thru the front pump or something, with her driving/running... my $0.02 cents

the sfi flex plate is a great idea, the round SFI cert. B&M w/dual converter pattern unit is only like $83.95 from Summit Racing

I sent the Hemi to the sheen shop for the last time Friday. When it comes back, there WILL be an early Hemi build thread goin on, cause I will have all the stuff and all the sheen work done.

getting her ready for the road...just got my pistol grip shifter...Thanks Steve! got a 71 shifter linkage/shift plate...SO...if anyone is looking for a cordoba shifter/linkage/shift plate...PM me.

Drove it to work and enjoyed THE HELL out of it.

Even drove it (73 Sat) instead of the company truck while at work today.

Atmospheric gods must have wanted it so, as it rained about an hour after I got home (blue skies all day), and is still raining.

Replaced the trans to cooler lines, then like any good wrench monkey, took it for a nice long road test. A nice long fast road test. I love springtime. and it ain't 'cause the crocuses are bloomin'.
