I had a full tank of gas calling my name so I took it out for a nice drive :)

Got the Coronet up on it's side on the rotisserie ready to blast the under side. ....and of course, as always, somethin went wrong. My sand got damp.....but I tried anyway. I was able to get a real small strip about 12" by 3".......did it in one sweep so I know it will work at least. Emptied all the sand out. Went into town and got some different media and will try again tomorrow.

Once again, didn't do ****. Maybe set a few more boxes on it this week. Must get a house first before i can justify any $ on the car. But at least i still have it.

(Saturday) Drove to Kissimee to Mopars at Oldtown. Pics forthcoming.

Cleaned and organized my garage, emptied and put some plastic down for a clean work surface on the workbench. About ready to pull the intake and heads...

I have yet to take my Road Runner (I'm usually there in my five window coupe)

Anyhoo, over the weekend I made a custom air cleaner to fit my Dominator/highrise setup.

All I did was drive it today... again :)

Hey snake, looks like we have the same summit 3 pass radiator (made by northern). How do ya like it? Does it cool well?

No cooling issues other than taking forever to get up to operating temp.

My gauge has yet to go over 185* and I've been racing around all day tuning the carb in 85* weather.

I wanted a shroud at first, but I just don't see the need.

I might actually go with electrics instead

Well.......I have egg on my face........but in a good way. I got a little blasted on the floor of the Coronet. Here's how it went. I turned the blaster on, "rust" came off then paint to the bare metal. All of a sudden, I thought, "hay stupid, rust doesn't rust over paint." So I stopped. I got to lookin REAL close. The "rust" I thought was rust is dried Georgia red clay. DIRT. So, although there IS some rust there's much less than I thought. I am going to pressure wash it first and go from there.

Lol, that's awesome, Rusty. I used to work large construction sites in areas wtih similar red dirt. First few times I came home, my wife would comment on my bronze tan only to be several shades lighter after a shower.

Great news. i just never want to worry about overheating again, even if stuck in Jersey Shore traffic in the summer. Sounds like you need a different t-stat? This past fall my car wouldnt come up to temp on a cool fall day. I opened it up and realized the PO drilled a few 1/8" holes in the stat for hi flow, which i hear does have its purpose. I plan on running a standard 190* stat, maybe 195, which 'should' allow the car to hit temp before even bringing the rad into play.
