Began making a set of stationary promo wheel discs

My buddy's working on the artwork and should have it out in a few days

I was wondering were on the original's from Dodge & Plymouth, did they have a bearing in them &/or weighted at the bottom, or something to keep them from spinning ??... never seen any in person off the car, seems like if it/they weren't/wasn't weighted &/or have a bearing, so the two different metals don't cause friction & grab or wear out... I've seen plenty on the cars, or photos, just curious & wondering...

Or is it just fixed on the spindle probably

Yeah, they simply bolt up to the spindle and have a small gap between the rim of the wheel (just enough for valve stem clearance)

I'll make a driving video when completed, but here's a short silly one I just made for kicks.

I got the nerve to use the touch up paint I had a body shop mix for me. So far it aint bad we will see after a little sanding and buffing after a day or two.

Tried to install new Jegs 3" x 14" drop base air cleaner for better breathing
As usual didn't fit - hit kick-down linkage
Took off linkage and ground for clearance
Tried to install again - still didn't fit
Ground some more
Tried again - still didn't fit again
Fuxit - gave up for now and ordered air cleaner base spacer from Jegs
Installed hula girl instead

Patrick & Kurt 70 Charger project

This weekend nephew Kurt & I pulled out the radiator, removed all a/c components from engine bay, horns, charcoal canister, & exhaust manifolds. We are still trying to figure out how to remove the heater inlet & outlet pipes attached to the aluminum water pump housing. They seem to be corroded in... applied liquid wrench and will resort to propane on the housing if needed. Without these out of the way we can't remove the alternator bracket (pipe gets in the way). Fun fun fun. Oh yes, at 1:30 am we finally had the old exhaust system front to back removed

Welded up some new mounting hardware for the wheel discs :)

Not that there's anything wrong with my initial hardware, it's just that these nuts are cheaper, give me more surface to weld on and look more like the original MOPAR hardware

I've been fighting with the passenger side collector flange on my '69 RR since day one.

It constantly rubbed against the torsion bar and made a horrid banging noise at idle.

Drove me nuts at stop lights :angryfire:

So today, I ghetto rigged some chain links and a turnbuckle on the collector flange bolts and for the first time since I had her, there's no banging :hello2:

I tell'ya, it's like driving a new car lol

Those are fantastic, SNAKE EATER!

Oil change. 4000 miles on this change.

I didn't do a damn thing, I'm worn out from finishing my check list for Carlisle.....whew!

An adjustable header flange preloader - that is ghetto engineering at it's finest. It's even better than the pieces of foam swim noodle I crammed up under my dash to keep the heater box from rattleing.

Finally done with my discs :)

Wow! They look good. What do they screw in to?
