Uncovered the Cuda today.
It saw its shadow and went back away for 6 more weeks.

All I have left is find who made off with my drain pan if I had one I could of had them off tonight all I have is one that catches the fluid but it let's it drain threw all the cracks in the bottom !

If you take the wheel and inner fender off, it really makes things much easier to work on during head removal. You can actually take the head out through the wheel IIRC. That's how my brother does it at the shop, although he does have a lift.
 
Thanks that sounds easier any idea if they will come out with the manifolds attached still? I'm afraid all the bolts will brake there extramly rusty guess that's what I get for using the truck to tow people out of flooded roads !
 
Had a small pin hole in my return, had a buddy (who is very good) touch it up yesterday. Gonna shove the motor back where It belongs while the radiator is out and get a proper length drive shaft. Also need to change the starter (before I'm walking) and I need to chase down and repair all the fumes entering the car. My little boy is 2 this year and he's all about the roadrunner. Gotta make it safe for him to ride in.

I broke mine today. think the new cam went flat. Then my 285/40/18 tires arrive to rub salt in my wounds. But my son loves his new tire fort lol

Picked up the flushed/baked tank and re-plated Charger bumper, for the wagon project. Now to cut and weld, to install the EFI/in-tank pump.

We had a 70 degree day in February. Couldn't let that go to waste. Got the dash panel, steering wheel, and some trim painted for my '55 Plymouth.

Started assembling my Classic Auto Air A/C system so I can bench test it before installing. Looking forward to being able to drive it all summer!

I am building a new hangout for the race cars and my crew. Should be done this spring.
 
If anyone is interested the exhaust manifold s on a 5.7 hemi in a truck can stay attached when you pull the head tons of room ! The bolts surprisingly came out fairly easy go figure on something with no room they would of all snaped off guess it was my lucky day. Heads are out and at machine shop only one broken valve spring and the valve stayed up didn't fall in thank god no further damage past the head problem
 
Soaked and scrubbed the wire harness clips? and taped them back on.

They had brain goo dripped on them from when my brain lost it's goo while sitting in a box on top of the coiled harness.
What are the odds that the goo got all over both the clips?
One done, one to do. plus the last two spots on the harness that got goo'd but didn't have clips.

That brain goo is nasty, NASTY stuff.

Two days ago it was 70 degrees, today, it's very cold and snowy. I didn't do anything with any of my cars, but I did sell a spare '71 Charger hood to help someone else's project along.

What did you use to clean it off? The headlight modules in the 80's Daytonas and Lebarons have the same stuff in them, and my '87 Shelby Z has had 2 of them crap their guts all over the dash harness.
 
Yy1 those cleaned up nice!

I got my heads off the hemi and to the machine shop the other day forgot to post started cleaning detailing painting if needed the removed parts!

One came off basically spotless the other was an oily mess!
 
I had on old school can of bug and tar remover.

Soaked them for a couple of hours and used a plastic brush several times during the soaking period.

Not sure if newer bug and tar remover is same formula or not.

I did a lot of testing on the harness (have a thread under "let's talk about brain goo").
