What did you do to your Mopar today?

Last night I pulled the motor and trans on the coronet, anticipating the arrival of the 505 short block. Going back to the garage shortly to drop the rear end and suspension to prep for a street lynx 4 link.

Nice, it's my intention to get that rear end in my car as well. Let us know how it goes.

I'll keep you updated, hopefully I get the parts this week so I can install next weekend.

Did you change out the front end as well?

I know the AlterKtion fornt has mustang spindles, but if I can get the rear done first that's what I'll do. Wondering how it feels with the stock front-end.

This year my goal is to finally get a manual transmission installed by years end.

No unfortunately I couldn't squeeze the front end kit into the budget this year, I'm going with tubular upper/lower control arms, Viking shocks, and poly bushings, I think that will be good enough...

I have roughly the same with Bilstein RCD shocks. I went the Firm Feel route..

GL, looking forward to seeing your results.

Who did you go through for the street lynx, gotta get mine ordered soon also. Thanks

Yet another round of fighting with this quarter panel ( it feels more like a 7/8 panel - dang it's BIG )

Hey Kahn, that.s looking very good. Props man..

Wire brushed the dirt off that 78' 440 motor home engine, I bought last year. Dissembled the upper end, and was pleasantly surprised to find no ring ridge on any cylinder walls. The guy I bought it off said it had only 24K on it. This considerably reduces the amount the rebuild will cost me, as I was counting on piston replacement. I'm going have her hot tanked, re-ringed and all the bearings replaced. The machine shop I deal with, suggested milling the heads down thirty thousands, and put in a mid cam. I'm building this engine just to have some fun with it. I'm going to take her to the strip a couple of times, but no reason for me to get into any serious racing. Any suggestions on a cam shaft ? I was checking several after market sources, and was surprised that stock camshafts are all the same grind, from the 361 to the 440 applications. I expected different for each CID. Later next week, I'll get oil pan and front cover and pump housing off.

Who's doing the machine work? Your very mopar limited around here.

A machine doesn't know what brand parts are on it. Find a good machine-shop, and have the dimensions ya need. They're all just air-pumps.

I worked for over 10 years as a machinist, true engines are all the same but some guys have a serious hatred for mopars. And just because you have the equipment doesn't mean you know how to use it.

I said find a good machine shop. My parts go to different people, who do different things well. Professionals don't care what they're working on....they want all their stuff to work well.

You haven't had anything machined around Toledo... that's why I said around here. I drive my stuff an hour north just to get good work

Good builders/machinists are scattered around, and usually not where you want them. Other than my heads[10 min from home]...all my stuff is done in a 2-3 hour radius from home. Different parts in different places.

Yesterday, I gutted everything from the trans cross-member, back....on the wagon. Gotta get the tank flushed today[welding project], and go pick up my new calipers for the front of the silver car. I hope to have the engine and trans outta the wagon before Saturday. I'm supposed to drop the 528 off for a rebuild[for my Belvedere]...and pick up my 496 for the silver car. I'm on a mission to have the silver one back together and running by May 1st. In the meantime, I gotta get the 6.4 driveline and all the new suspension....along with all the underside stuff done on the wagon.

started pulling top end off the 03 ram 2500 5.7 hemi.
It broke a few valve spring s awhile back it's finally time to fix it. What a freaking nightmare of a job! All I have left is find who made off with my drain pan if I had one I could of had them off tonight all I have is one that catches the fluid but it let's it drain threw all the cracks in the bottom !

Installed my new calipers today, along with bump-stops. So damned tedious to install/space these stupid things. Had them apart about 4 times. Gotta detail the shocks and steering column, and the whole roller will be ready for the engine/trans install.
