What did you do to your Mopar today?

More on building my buddies 440:

Mopar Stage VI heads are raised port heads, so they need a spacer to adapt to the intake manifold. See spacer in the picture below.
But they also mean that a standard valley pan cannot be used since the ports won't line up. We bought a valley pan from Edelbrock. But the sides were bent at 90*. Why??? :poke:

The sides were also too long, so merely bending them would mean they interfere with the spacers.

So we had to modify the pan. The sides were cut and then bent to the correct angle. Here I am verifying fitment.

The pan was cleaned up and painted, the heads drilled to accept the bolts, and then the pan was installed.

After it was installed, I couldn't help mocking up the intake and valve covers.

Last things are the installation of the pushrods and verifying valve train geometry - we are still waiting on the parts to arrive for that. Then the intake will be installed and the engine will be done!
 
Cleaned up the laneways this morning and then decided I owed myself a relaxing afternoon. Did an oil and filter change on the hemi Satellite to improve my mood!

Love all the factory dip primer nibs still hanging off the belly ! This car has less than 11,000 original miles on it. Most a 1/4 mile at a time, but the car has never been "cut" or modified.

Need to get a proper lower rad hose for it, to get it away from the filter. The previous owner had the shorty on it, all I have is the medium and longs. It'll do for now...

Damn you've been busy
Gonna be busy tomorrow as well. I have no idea how many dozen oil changes I've done since I was 15 years old. I have NEVER had a filter leak in my life, but I fired up the Barracuda and she pissed all over the K frame and floor. Gotta be a crack in the canister... tomorrows BS if I'm not in the plow truck.
 
Got the Cuda masked off and into the makeshift paint booth, filled the frame rails with rust encapsulator with the tube and spray wand end, worked well a little messy but cleaned up fast. prepping the bare metal underneath for a coat of epoxy then some 2k, a few spots need some touching up and in a few weeks this sweethart should be purple underneath.

Looking at the top picture, I'm thinking that the Cuda would look good with some woodgrain on it's sides.

Removed some paint up to the seam. Now debating if I should go full quarter, or use the ones the ol' man bought from Year One(iirc) in early 2000s.They seem pretty flimsy, not sure how good the stamping was back then also. Decisions decisions.
