What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Loaded and then unloaded 1400 pounds of scrap steel plus a beat to hell brass radiator, 2 aluminum radiators and a cracked 19 pound alloy wheel.

A hundred and forty eight bucks.

Always keep up appearances!!!! (Long as they’re not from Philly!). Rest of state is pretty decent……(Allentown for a couple yrs)

Taking my wife shooting for the first time.

We know all about chickens. Ask if you have questions. PM me.
How bout starting a new thread? I wouldn't mind learning more about them too and there's probably others that would too?

I might have 8-900 loaded on my beater right now based on how it's sitting. It's a lot of small stuff though. Hope to make the run tomorrow. Got a good batch of aluminum too including crushed cans.

Taking my wife shooting for the first time.
Has she ever shot before? My first wife was a total fail but my second wife was pretty good. 1st one was afraid of it.....a SS 357 with 38's in it. A bit heavy but not much kick with the .38's in the wheel.

Start with a Ruger 10-22. It's smooth, quiet, cheap(ish) and easy to shoot. Start up close to the targets and move back. I've always found it fun to see how far away I can get and still hit the target.

I quit shooting because my last dog did not like reports or lightning. As I think about a new one, maybe a puppy, I'm thinking I will try to condition it to loud noises. I was thinking I would start with my belt, by lightly snapping it like we did when we were kids. Snap it and stick it in their face in a playful way.

Scrap was $6.70 per 100#.

Not the $12 it was when I started my pile, but not the $3 it was last year!

The brass rad and the 17" Dakota wheel were the big money items.

Shooting got postponed because I sliced the HELL out of my right index finger tip a week and a half ago and it's still not right. MUCH better though.

Thought I might need stitches at the time, but what do you know.....no one likes to stitch finger tips unless it's REAL bad.

I actually do have a 10-22. That and a single six. Both good for her to start with.

She's been asking to go for some time.

We may rent a 9mm and/or a .380 to see how much she can handle.

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!

Around here, scrap metal is impervious to inflation, unless you're buying.

They announce a high price and people start putting their metal together. A week later, the bottom falls out. You have your car trailer piled with scrap, what are you going to do? Let it tie up your trailer until the next time they raise prices?

I did some cleaning. I had a pile of electric motors. Internet says: 30 cents per pound is national average. I got 3 cents. I wanted to tell them, bring 'em back, no sale... I want my place clean more, and they know it.

Around here it depends where you take it.
Make an hour drive you get paid well. Do a 20 min drive and it's sub par.

Tin I take to the local place.

Valuables such as copper/ aluminum etc I make the long drive because I wait till I have a BIG load. Wife also gets to stop at Costco for those trips.

I donate a portion back to local community groups and they keep an eye out for more scrap. So everyone wins.

Working at a music festival site with my crew. Another circle of benches for Workshop Lane.
