What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Went to the nostalgia drags at South butler.

Moved furniture.

Ugh.

I slept all day Sunday. I was awake at 1am for some reason, and I remained awake until 7:10am. One hour of sleep. That sucked. So, I slept like the dead until 2pm Sunday afternoon. My planned "exciting weekend" was anything but.

I drilled 16 holes for 12" building tubes this morning... Removed about 2 million rocks and boulders in the process... part of my shed expansion project

Not quite sure what to think about this GTX? But I think it was made to look like one. To many things not right about it. We went for our Saturday scoot out in the country. I think my oil rings gave up.

Any ways.

My house was abandoned for at least 15 years. Someone thought throwing rocks through windows would be fun. Everyone told me to bulldoze it, $2k and several months of hard work later I’m living in it. Still a long way to go, but how many 25 year olds own a house, 4 acres, and 3 cars!
I bought my first house at 23. It wasn't on 4 acres though but it did have a detached garage with an added on shop out back. I assumed the VA loan which imo, I would never let anyone assume a VA loan that I originated. Anyways. By the time I was 26 I had 3 1st gen Mustang coupes and 2 Fastbacks plus my 74 Dodge D100 pickup and they all ran and drove! The pickup was my first and only 6 banger full size truck. Shortly after I bought a running but not really drivable 70 A66 Challenger. It came with the factory rear window louvers and luggage rack. Didn't care for the rack but the louvers turned out to be a rare option.

Assembled my Lathe

Bought a small Craftsman/Atlas 6in "101/618" Lathe about 2 years ago. I decided finally to tear it down, clean it up and re-paint the lathe and install larger casters to the stand and rewire the motor to add a drum switch so I would have forward and reverse spindle rotation. Prior to assembly I wanted to re-shim the carriage and re-adjust the all the Gibs in the slides taking out excessive slop.

This Lathe is small and somewhat limited because of size, but sure is nice to have capability to make or modify many fasteners and threading semi large parts. Here are some before and after pix.

Mowed, trimmed, weeded, then worked on my car.

Nice job! I have a 15" LaBlond Regal servo shift. Wasn't too happy about getting one with that servo shift but I've had it a lot of years now and no issues. They are handy for sure!!

Started locating and planting tubes in some of those holes I drilled for the shed expansion project the other day.

Been wanting one for a couple years now and been waiting patiently for the local parts house to have sand blasting cabinets on sale, well they just went on sale for over 40% off so I picked up a large standing unit, just spent about 6 hours assembling the darn thing, so many pieces and about 150 small screws and bolts.
