What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Well, i got out of the hospital today.
Friday morning something happened to me, in the bathroom, here in my house.
I completely "blacked out" and going down, my forehead hit the bath towel rack, on the wall.
Put two, nice big gashes in my forehead.
And woke up in a big pool of blood, on the bathroom floor.
Got stitched up, ok, but they admitted me, not knowing if it was a neurological problem, or related to the cow valve replacement on my heart, that was done about five years ago.
I'm back home, I'm doing ok.
Take care of yourself.

I went thru something similar about 10 years ago.
If I stood up to fast , or sometimes even just turned my head and looked straight up. I would get dizzy spells and had to grab on to something to keep my balance

After a bunch of tests including a CT scan. They found / said was an ear infection deep inside. Took some meds for a bit and it cleared up.
That was scary to say the least

As a matter of fact, i just back in form the Mather VA hospital, asking when the stitches come out.
They come out Friday, so I'll be back over there, waiting my turn in line, to be treated.

Put a nail thru my foot.

Pulling up flooring and a sheet of plywood slipped off my pry bar as I was peeling it off the floor. Bounced down and a skinny (2p?) nail bounced in and out between my 2nd and 3rd toes. I've cleaned, irrigated, showered, alcohol and peroxide. Can barely see the dot where it went in.

Debating a tetanus shot. No striations, no burning sensations...I dunno.

I've been building a wooden rear section, tailgate and taillights, of a 60's, 70's Dodge truck. It's junk wood pieced together. I'm just playing, a few minutes here and there.

Got out and into the world, after my 1 week stay in the hospital, and 4-5 day lockdown at home, from viral pneumonia. Pretty weak, but it felt good to be moving air in public.

I worked with an Australian builder a few years ago who shot himself in the hand with his own nail gun while pinning an upper door frame surround.

We called him Jesus after that incident.

The best way to hang this tailgate, in my opinion, is with what we called a butterfly hanger. It can hold a ton, and the only way it can defeat you is if you lift it up about an inch and it falls away from the wall. Half on the tailgate with a couple of blocks at the bottom and the other half on the wall. It's long enough to span two studs just by moving it back and forth. After you hang it, I just put a screw in through the tailgate and into wall so it can't accidentally be bumped up and off. I chose to put the screw under the license plate. I might be hanging this by my Coronet and hanging it by my car any other way is out of the question. After that screw under the license plate is installed, you can beat it with a sledgehammer, and it will not come down. @Sahara
