What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Well, i did a 125 mile drive for me, to Carson City, Nevada, to go to that cities Pick-N-Pull wrecking yard to pick the disc brake parts, and lower control arms, off a 1972, 4 door Plymouth Satellite that they put out in one of their Chrysler rows, yesterday.
I'll be busy rebuilding, in the garage, for awhile now.
Keeping me busy, out of trouble. lol.

Clean up continues on the storm damage...........

Daughter and hubby came from RI. Wife let them take the TV stand there are only a few bolts. 10 awkward hex head bolts later enough was disassembled. Of course this was done in a hot and humid garage. Love doing stuff for kids. Witch and moan but do it. Son in law would have done it but wife would have been PO'd,
he's a guest".

Wheelbarrowed, shoveled, spread and compacted the last of 22 tons of driveway gravel, expanding a parking area and leveling the parking area next to the shop. Man, am I glad that's done. Taking a hot rod to the local brewery tonight for 4th of July BBQ and beers as reward.

Raining again, I have nothing else to do except work on the car. I have to get it done before leaving for Carlisle…

Took the dog for a walk at lunch today.

Someone decided to make one of our local eating joints into a drive through. No one got hurt..just the driver from the air bag! I don't know how you make a 90 degree turn off the street into a building.

Most likely an elderly person. Hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and then panicked. You won't understand that until you get a bit older yourself. Happens quite often with the more experienced generation.

Don't know all the details.
Appears someone pulled out in front of the car that hit the building..
Causing driver to lose control, but avoided the car...no skid marks. 90 degree turn. then right through the entrance...
Appeared to b a younger women over weight w blue hair, not elderly.Lol

I don't think driving is her skill set..Lol

I have stood many times..right where car went through. Lucky no one was injured.

Being a small town the lumberyard opened on the 4th to help them board it up and the very next day they are open but for pickup only!

Yep, all kinds of possible causes these days. I forget that young drivers nowadays are possibly worse drivers than those my age, given their preoccupation with their phone texting and all their social media BS while trying to drive. Gotta watch out for EVERYBODY these days, not just the old codgers! :steering:

Had a shop day.

When you pack up a concert and everything is soaking wet...ya kinda have to pull it all back out and let it dry...

Speakers. Cables. Microphones. Stands. Tent. Chairs. Tarps. What a pain...but, it all dried off (94 today!) and got boxed back up nice and dry.

Started day 3 of rehab on a rental house.

Funny repair on steel door from kitchen to garage.
Funny repair on bathroom wall and door.
Funny bedroom door replaced with heavy exterior door.

45 min forensic analysis and discovery of damage to refrigerator...

Bullet trajectory.

In lighter news...

Someone dumped about 250 mostly OEM (some sealed NIB) VHS cassettes in my dumpster about 3 days ago.

I pulled a few to display in my shop (Carrie, Bad News Bears, Live And Let Die, Ben Hur).

...and told a friend that collects just about any media format, who came and picked several dozen.

I also grabbed a grocery bag full to potentially watch.
Don't have them in front of me but one was a home/dub of something called "Linda Carter movie".
I wonder what that is.

There was a 45 tape set of Star Trek NG episodes.
I think my friend picked those.

Lots of John Wayne, Marx Bros, Bowery Boys, James Bond, Tom Hanks, and somewhat oddly Richard Simmons.

If there wasn't something in there for everyone, IDK.....

I do still have a mid-line Sony HiFi VHS deck.

Well, i got out of the hospital today.
Friday morning something happened to me, in the bathroom, here in my house.
I completely "blacked out" and going down, my forehead hit the bath towel rack, on the wall.
Put two, nice big gashes in my forehead.
And woke up in a big pool of blood, on the bathroom floor.
Got stitched up, ok, but they admitted me, not knowing if it was a neurological problem, or related to the cow valve replacement on my heart, that was done about five years ago.
I'm back home, I'm doing ok.

Scary..hope they get it figured out.
My brother got bit by a spider and did similiar years ago, also in the bathroom, blacked out didn't know how long he was out and had to get stiches.
Wasn't much of a bite either, but the only thing we ever figured out.

I went thru so many tests, in the medical books, it's unbelievable, what i went thru.
But, it's undetermined what caused it.
All the results have come back within normal, acceptable, readings.
I dunno, on this one.

I'm sure they checked, but 5 or 6 years ago, for about 4 months, I felt stressed. Physically, not emotionally. Racing heart, occasional skipped beats, sweats, mildly lightheaded. Then one day, I got out of the recliner, took 6 steps into the kitchen and WHAM. On the floor. Heart checks showed I had atrial flutter - the 2 halves of my heart beat opposite each other due to an electrical (nerve) problem. My heart would race...but no blood pressure. Not sure if that helps your situation at all or not, but if they didn't check heart...might take a look. I wore a monitor for a week so they could completely diagnose it. 1 scope surgery (outpatient heart surgery - unreal!) to freeze the misfiring nerves, and a modified diet (no caffeine, no alcohol), and been right as rain since.

Mother Nature fawked up my uncured floor paint this afternoon...
