What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

New lift finally arrived and I picked it up and brought it home. Now the REAL work begins. Installation.

You'll never regret it, and you'll never want to go back to laying on your back and crawling around underneath a car anymore!

Just take your time and be SURE to install it correctly - obviously NOT a good thing if it falls with a car on it!

Got some work done on the lift today. Should have it ready to go by the weekend, (I hope!) Installation manual is damn near worthless.

Do we have a "jealous" button?

I finally put my lift in my shop. The picture of my 65.
I install alignment equipment for a living

I've been on the lookout for a used, commercial quality 4 post alignment lift with tables and at least one jack, that can double to stack one car above another.

I just missed one in January for $2100, but I couldn't move due to covid at the time.

Figures.

Not today but prepped & painted a heli-pad this week.
Got it done friday so didn't have to 'go' to work today.
Only had to stop for 2 birds 2x so could stay on it. It got shut down friday through today for crane work.

Some of y'all are over the top on your time off. Me I just did weed control on the fence line and spent 4 hours this morning doing security updates on the email server at work.

Changed the oil on my truck.
Weed and feed on my terrible lawn.
Plugging some holes in the transom of my old Whaler. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new Yamaha outboard.

Cut MORE rounds, we're surrounded by trees needing chopped up. I'm tired of it & tired from it also.

I rolled a 5 foot chunk out of the way and may carve it in to a bench/chair thing.
Later.
Much, much later.

8" diameter 25 foot tall tree fell in the back yard, across the rear fence.

Was somewhat light wood, so lashed the largest section to the truck bed and took it to the shop to cut up and put in dumpster.

Fence repair next weekend.

Just got done pulling the 440 out of a 69 road runner. The hard part was getting the thing in and out of the shop. The front end hasn't been aligned since I rebuilt it last summer or so. I eyeballed it and that was it. The thing broke a valve spring at an idle and it broke into 5 pieces! Every single spring on one head was in coil bind. One spring came off that looked like the hump back of Notre Dame and all of them showed signs of bind. The owner got lucky on this one I think. Going to pull the piston out of the hole to make sure it's ok. Standard bore block too....
