What flips your happy switch?

I use to be the technical director of the Orange Bowl Half time show decades back. When there was a lull in set up or rehearsals, a block away was a mom-and-pop road side ice cream stand. As I was waiting for my Butter Pecan shake at the order window, I noticed a filled county passenger van drive up and the challenged kids being transported started to pile out. I asked the cashier what was going on, and she said they came by monthly for ice-cream. I slipped her a $100 and I said, this time is on me.
I got a $1000 of happiness out of the $100 as I sat there drinking my shake watching them enjoy their ice creams. I was the lucky one.

You guys flip my switch, I thank you all for the smiles you give me. Holidays suck for me. Thank you all. Dave

I guess I'm easy to please....
A big slice of hot apple pie
and a scoop of vanilla
ice cream. While watching
the grandkids ride around
in their go-carts....

Wouldn't that be the cherry on top.
That's not my definition of a cherry being on top......... :poke:

Watching my wife smile yesterday, holding my hand for hours as we walked around enjoying the day. Then meeting up with everyone for dinner. Stuff money can't buy......... except dinner!!!

That's understandable and you're not alone, don't forget that. Everyone has a cross to bear, different, but the same. Ulli

I got my Happy Switch flipped the other day. The H.R. girl from the company where I retired 12 years ago called to say she had good news for me. After I left, the factory slowly dwindled down, and finally closed a couple of years ago (as I predicted it would, without me. LOL). After all the business and financial affairs were completed after plant closure, there was $$$ left over (???), which the parent company was entitled to keep. Instead they decided to split this $$$ with employees who decided to stay to the bitter end and surviving retirees. About $13,000 coming my way in the new year Yay! The fellow I worked with in our small department stayed to the end, and he said he has $50,000 coming to him. I never expected this!

For 30 years my best buddy and I get together once a week for the whole day. One week I cook lunch and dinner and next week he cooks. I look forward to it every week. We call it 'Wednesday' because it's usually on a Wednesday. If one of us needs to change the day, we still call it Wednesday. This Monday will be our Wednesday.

I go to bridgewater , mi. on Wednesdays, get to hang out with about a dozen old time racing guys, make some food, throw back a couple of brewski's, and b.s. good times, most are older than me, but what a vast conglomerate of knowledge. most are machinists, engineers, and all are good people. enjoying this why I still can.

Same here. I have always liked Gen II and Gen III steel bumper Vettes. My buddy just bought an orange 69 350 Vette in the spring from the original owner with less than 30,000 miles. All original including tires, belts, hoses, every piece of paper work since new. Dealer invoice, copy of check, tank sticker etc. He has known and been trying to buy this car for over 50 years and finally got it.
