For those that are running stock Max Wedges or Race Hemi's, what fuel are you using. This Max Wedge is the first car I have owned, including a 435hp Corvette, that I don't think will do very well on pump gas or even a mixture with mostly unleaded. I have been solely using 110 leaded Cam II, at $8.00 per gallon. Am I overly concerned?:confused5:

Compression Ratio? 11 to 1? 13.5 to 1? Lower? 10.5 to 1 is about as high as 93 octane gas is going to work with reliably. Your comment about lead... Safe to assume you don't have hardened valve seats? If the car isn't going to see more than a couple thousand miles a year or spend all its time blasting down a track I wouldn't even worry about leaded gas or additives. That's just my opinion.

Do a compression test and see what PSI it has. Static compression isn't as important as cranking PSI is. You can have 11-1 and run pump gas if the cam bleeds off cylinder pressure in the lower rpm ranges. High pressure at low rpm is what helps make things ping but at high rpm, there isn't enough time for the second flame front to happen....
