What is everyone working on in the off season.

You can make that very car go 9.99 with the right parts. My 66 Coronet went [email protected] and the very next run it went 10.04 and 131.54 and that was the end of the races for that day. I then sold it to the fella in Denmark.
I know the next outing with just a little more tweaking it would be 9.99.
Check out my build and also Malex's build.
I don't know how far you are along on your motor the way it sits.
My setup was pretty basic as shown in my signature line.
Go for it....

I know I could get there, Mike. The issue isn’t really whether I could or not, the issues are:
A. I really love the look and lines of the early B’s more than the 66-67 cars. Ultimately I will probably always lust for one no matter how fast my 67 is.
B. My car is just about at the peak of performance that I think I can get out of a full weight car with its current 252* camshaft, stealth heads, pump gas compression, and nice street manners. To go much faster I believe is going to take some big changes. If I’m going to make big changes... why not start over with what I ultimately want?

Then every once in a while I see a 66 or 7 that makes me go “wow”; and I start thinking about things like a mini-tub kit, different wheel & tire combo, and what my car could be with a simple rebuild with more camshaft...... I guess this is the disease, huh??!!

Mr. Gaines up and sold his mean Coronet and killed our grudge match. And tangling with Mike's new ride is like bringing a gun to a knife fight. Maybe Lemon Wedge will do a little tweaking and take Mr. Gaines place! :)

Picking on Street-cars, huh Malex??. You don’t have to do much more than look at the launch photos we both use as our avatars to see who would have the upper hand in that battle....

Gary I say keep your car for 1 how well your car performs has been a inspiration to me in building my car so I might be selfish in saying that part plus you can still drive your car around on the street anytime of the year weather permitting to help with cabin fever

LOL, I started off with a street car, the same as you and it just sort of went that way. I think Mike wishes he still had that Coronet too. I personally think you have the perfect car now, and it's wins wins wins.

Now if you wanted to put dials on the cars and see if you could chase me down...... that I might be interested in.

You’re in Round 2 of that “street car” battle, aren’t you......
I seem to remember not long ago when you brought home the Dart, it was going to be a street car for your nephew or grandson???? Do I remember that right?
Now it’s a couple of steps away from being a full-on SS/AH car.

Haha, isn't it strange how things change. It started out as a winter time hobby, to use up parts and a team build with the Grandson. The help never showed up but once, few parts got used up and here we are now building a hemi.

View attachment 697243 Malex, your work ethic, speed, and quality amaze me. My trans is freshened up. The new spool and gear are done. I'm going to paint the wheel spokes a different color. The real work is another N/SS car. My friend is building one similar to mine, 64Polara 500. Cage, mounts, and brackets are done. Body is in 2nd prime coat. Same guy painting as mine. Black with a red gut. Motor is done. KB 540" by Best Machine. Made a touch over 960hp. I'm doing the Dana and trans now. When it comes out of paint I'll wire it up.

Doug any updates on that 64 Dodge just curious.

Yeah the hobby car will likely be faster than the damn race car. Lol.
Malex didn't catch what the rear suspension your using for traction. I assume it's mono leaf and Cal tracks. I see the relocation kit done etc.reason for asking as you know I am doing the relocation kit and mini tubs. I have the SS springs and sliders but never gave a thought to the Cal tracks or something else. I'm moving rear shocks to straight up and down Mancini has a kit to weld to rear housing and can adjust the length of shock as needed. Your help would be greatly appreciated.bearman

The trim has been getting polished and interior trimming is going on. He is doing all the trim himself so its going slow. I bugged him about ordering trans parts so I can get the trans built. Then it comes to my shop for wiring and plumbing.

Bearman, I'm using the Calvert Split MonoLeafs with the relocated boxes, sliders and cal tracs, double acting shocks in the stock location. Thinking about what you could use, in my opinion Cal Tracs would likely be the way to go. They work, they're proven, great resale if you ever decide to part with them. The kit comes with a nice lower shock bracket to use with your relocated shocks. No pinion angle changes required.

Doug you'll have to post some pictures of the Dodge once it's in your stable. From what I recall that is one amazing job going. I think it's around the calibre of your Plymouth, yeah pictures needed.

To be honest I thinks it's going to be nicer than mine.
