What is your claim to fame?

My grandkids stick up for me and that's all that counts. :drinks:

I would bet many of you have pictures of your kids, your grand kids, and your parents have pictures of yourselves as newborns before you came home from the hospital hanging on the wall in your home and I had a hand in it.
Problem is, nobody knows...or cares!

You invented the camera!

I have had an auto restoration shop for 40 years. Was a Ford guy, now reformed. Have restored/painted nearly every Shelby year and model, 65 GT-350, 66GT-350 (owned), 67 GT-350 and 500, 68 GT-350 GT-500 and KR 500 convertible, 69 GT-350, 70 GT-500 Drag Pack (owned). Others, 71 Roadrunner 6 pack for the original owner. Am trying to finish a 72 Roadrunner GTX for Carlisle. Lots of other muscle, classic and exotic vehicles. Been alot of fun.

Went in front of this judge at least 6 times in the 70’s for either drag racing, open alcohol, or looping on Telegraph, he never once jailed me!
He was a good man

Lets see.....who do I want to call today? the Dick,or the Dubb? So many questions to ponder!

Rescuing cats, of all things. I talked about it here before. Started with the flood, two years ago. I took in a bunch for people that couldn’t take their pets with them when they had to evacuate. The radio station had me on, interviewed by a little hottie. Then we had the first fire evacuation last spring, and my phone started ringing. Took in a bunch of cats and was on the front page of two newspapers as a result. Then we had the big fire evacuation last August where we barely escaped with 17 cats. It was a freaking epic journey across two provinces and almost a thousand miles for five weeks. Was on the Canadian national news twice as well as Britain and a big European podcast. I will never forget when we were waiting to go on the national news. Suddenly you are on, and millions of people are listening and watching you. Trying not to sound like a moron. Getting teary on camera. The reporter crying. Very, very surreal.
I still get stopped in the street or getting groceries by strangers who saw what happened. Hundreds following or commenting online. I’m a blend into the crowd kind of guy but I have to admit it is humbling but mostly eye opening just how big of a reach the media has.
I never sought out the attention, it just sort of found me. Linda and I lead this Forrest Gump existence where things just randomly unfold around us.
It isn’t all good. We both have PTSD. Getting triggered is a real thing.

Garth and Linda are true Canadian Hero’s. Kim

I have no claim to fame. But Terry Fox’s courageous run half way across Canada inspired many Canadians. Cancer had taken part of one leg. He was a very determined man. He died for a great cause and still today there is Terry Fox runs all across Canada that benefits many cancer patients of all walks of life in our great Provinces and Territories. Kim

I have my name on a patent for some tooling I helped design at work. Might be a couple more coming...if that counts. My real claim to fame would be friends with this guy..lol

What is your claim to fame?

In this context, my resolute very direct succinctness, and a well-earned following of being "ignored" by those unwilling or unable to counter items mentioned, that apparently hit too close to home and leave them I suspect with their only recourse to attack ad hominin, or ignore.

I accept that "fame" as a fact of life when one is unafraid to face reality head on.
My other "fames" in the rest of my life not online, are best left to be noted by others who know me personally.

My claim to fame could be,
Just for the sake of this thread though, I will share the fact that back in my rock n' roll days I had sƩx with four girls at the same time one night...and they weren't even ugly! Or...at least I wanted to? Oh the good ol' days.....
I always thought a good measure of fame in that department, for me at least, was how long between the first meet of your partner did it take to get to home plate, so to speak, mine was 45 mins, and we are talking no professionals involved.:bananadance:
I was not a musician; I was a rock & roll sound man.

I am the guy who made it necessary to make a rule that burnouts must not extend beyond the tree at our local strip.
