What tools have proved to be invaluable to you?

Couldn’t agree more there. My son bought me one a couple Christmas’s ago. They can always tell where I’ve been with the mark it leaves on my forehead lol.
Like wearing a hard hat all day in summer.

My most used favorite is a 3/8" fine tooth flex head craftsman ratchet 42794 such as this.........

I didn't want one because of the wasted floor space but I thank FBBO for talking some sense into me, I use it all the time!

For a small tool that made life way easier.. it's definitely this. It's one of the most important tools in my collection when working around the house now for sure. Cutting holes for receptacle, trimming doors, door trim, baseboards, cutting nails in between studs, register openings, sanding in tight spots... I even cut 2 10'x8' garage door openings out in 1/2' plywood in minutes with it. Very impressive tool.

Please tell me you didn’t actually make 10 foot cuts with this

Why yes I did and it did it quickly lol (mines corded). Yes the correct way would have been to cut the sheeting before installing it but I was undecided on whether or not I wanted the opening to be arched or not so I left an extra foot to work with. We later decided on just a square opening so I was going to use it to cut the corners in but it was cutting so quickly and made it so easy to make a perfect cut I just kept going.

Hey, if it works, that’s great. I have the same tool and use it a lot, but don’t like trying to make long straight cuts with it.

But I’ve been known to get creative with tool selection myself.

Freehand straight cuts aren't fun but straight cuts where you just hold the blade against the inside framework as a guide are effortless.

I've had quite a few "favorites" over 50 years. But recently, as a gift I received my latest favorite > a Porter-Cable portable battery SAWZALL..... I LOVE IT .... the many different things I've done with this over the past 2 years since I got it has made me very happy !!

The gas axe was a top tool until I got a plasma cutter and the sawzall is another one. Haven't used the gas axe or the plasma cutter one in awhile now but the sawzall still gets used from time to time.....

It depends on what I'm doing at the time. It's all invaluable. Many things sit idle but when its their time for use, its great to have.
