No guts and Google doesn't find much. I don't know much about tach drive stuff, the sun thing converts to elec signal?

If it is the same as mine, can't remember the exact number. They use GM external adjustable points (dual) and the cap is for a 1957 Oldsmobile I believe. No vacuum advance so I would not use it on the road. They are built really well bushings and such.
That tach drive is kinda cool.
 
Google did find it and talked about the GM guts and cap, which this one has
 
That tach drive is weird because tach just reads ground signal on the coil. Wonder if that is for a shift light or something, before my time.

Seems to convert a mechanical tach drive to electrical signal

The tach drive looks to be geared to the shaft. So the dist would require a cable driven mech tach. You could use an elect tach & fire it off the coil - ve terminal.
