What wheels and tires came on base 69 hemi roadrunner?

Nope. My 69 rr has A87, but no rocker moldings (option for RM21 coupes only)
My info says the A87 consisted of:
H2 upgrade bench seat
Rear armrests (with ashtrays!)
Bright B-pillar moldings
Chrome tailpipe tips (except california. Cali noise reduction regs required turndown tailpipes, among other stuff)
S79 deluxe steering wheel
Bright door trim panel moldings
Bright armrest bases.
Cost $81.50
My A87 has no chrome tips FYI. Build sheet calls out A87 thou I think all of the above yes. My buddy’s 69 (he ordered, no tips but all of the above)

Ok thanks. Probably why I haven't noticed any cars having them in all the cars I have been looking at.
Here’s another Hemi and has rocker moldings. My other buddy’s car

Ok thanks. I'm guessing the 14" custom road wheels were not available on a hemi since they were not a 15" wheel?
In my opinion those are the best looking stock wheel.

Correct 15" steel wheels were standard on 68-69 Hemi cars.

66-67 a 14 inch was the only wheel choice on Hemi cars

1970 both 14 AND 15 inch were avail . with F70-14 and F60-15 the tire choices on B bodies

I cant comment if my car had A87 or not, its been gone a LOOOOONG time . I sold it early 90s I think.
Last known location was in WI.

These pics its 100% original paint and was untouched except wheels/tires and drive train

99 Rallye green , hemi, 4spd, 4.10 dana. manual str, pwr disc brakes, blk interior bench seat car

Sold new at Scothorn Motors, Petersburg Ky. Grandmother bought it new for her grandson who had just graduated high school. True story

Your correct and as the case for my buddy’s a4 silver car he removed his (non optional on RR)

I guess if you had the money to buy a new hemi roadrunner back in the day you probably could afford to put some nice aftermarket wheels on it.

Probably a dumb question but I just want confirmation.
Would the 15" steel wheels they used be the same for the dog dish hub cap and full turbine style hubcaps?
Since both hubcaps were standard on a hemi car.
Would the only thing be what determined which hubcap the car came with be what box the sales guy checked when he specced out the car?

Nope, it wasn't. Yours was a hdtp, the A87 was a trim upgrade for coupes only. Everything (or almost, I think) in the A87 package was stock on a hardtop.

Yep.

Should be checked on the build sheet I would think. Wheels called out why not hub caps? But don’t ask me hub cap codes lol

Ya I would think the build sheet would have to call them out so the assembly worker would know.
Some expert on here probably knows the hubcap codes.

Standard on a 69 rr (except A12) would be matching paint steelies and dog dishes, wheels would appear on broadcast, as would tires, but dog dishes would not be necessary.
I'm pretty sure optional wheel covers, wheels and tires would appear on the broadcast.
The nine slot covers were W11
The deep dish were W15
The hemi covers were W21 (code for hemi only, as we shall soon see...)
The chrome style (14") road wheels were also W21, on 383 cars.
The KH recall 15" wheels were W23
Along with seven different tires available, depending on engine choice.

I am NOT the expert, this is from Wes's 69 rr book. He is a member here, can't remember his member name.

Awesome thanks. I'm going to order his book so I don't have to bug everyone.
