Now that my car is much closer to completion I have been thinking about my insured value of the Coronet. Hagerty doesn't have a way to really apply a decent value and I am not sure what the car is worth in today's market. Can you guys help give me a ball park of what you think it's market value is?

1967 Coronet Deluxe 2dr post
Painted this year - single stage acrylic enamel, all rust repaired with metal and skim coated as necessary. Paint looks good but has a few flaws (Driver not show)
5.7 hemi fuel injected
5 speed manual OD trans
power disks front and rear
fully rebuilt suspension (no sway bars or aftermarket goodies)
Interior needs work, needs seats re-upholstered, needs headliner, needs better door panels and I have new carpet not installed.
New custom gauges and gauge panel (see pic, wires have all been tied up out of the way and cleaned up...older photo)

Thank you for your thoughts

Some companies will do an "agreed" value, 15-20k range, more as your work progresses, IMO.
Cool 5 spd!

Nice! As inexpensive as collector car insurance is, I wouldn't declare the value any less than $20,000 for this car.

Gotta finish the interior to get a better insurance value. Nice cool car fo sho!!!

You kind of have to think about what it would cost you to replace your Coronet with a comparable car if it was totaled or stolen. Do you know how much $ you have into the car? Just from the pictures, I would agree with the 15-20K range. Nice car by the way.

Get an agreed value policy for 20k, then when finished, up it to 25k.

Is there anybody close to you the sells classic cars? Tell them what info you're looking for and they may give you a value range. I know there's a guy near me that would do my cars for $175.00 Just an idea.

You can buy a $20K agreed value policy for that.

You can also get a Home Owners Insurance rider if you have a fire or accident on your property caused by roof cave in or damage from getting crashed by a construction vehicle or tree falling on car.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I've got an agreed value on it now for 15k but thinking maybe I'll bump it to 20 with your comments. Hagerty was pretty cool and let me do that 15k policy sight unseen as a project in about 1000 pieces.

Anybody else go ahead and chime in...the more ideas the merrier..

you did the right thing....

it's your car, you should be the one that puts the accessed value on it...

Spend...no....INVEST a few hundred bucks and pay to have it appraised. I had Auto Appraisal Network do mine for $250. They made an awesome report with pics out the yazoo. I sent that copy to Hagerty and they did not even call me, just sent a new premium/policy for the amount of the appraised value. Now there will be NO discussion about value if the issue ever comes up!

I do plan to do this eventually Darius. I have two things going right now that stop me...one is why do an official appraisal before the interior is complete and I don't have an extra $250 in the budget right now.

I appreciate all of the input so far. I think I'll up the value to 20k to make sure I would get its full value if god forbid something happened.

What it's worth in the market, and replacement value are apples and oranges. The builder of a car, seldom sees his investment when selling. Nobody pays retail for used stuff, and your time is free. Insurance value for a loss, is another story. I agree with the 20K.

i concur with all these fbbo guys. $20k for sure. dont under value it kb. you got a nice ride there.
