My former 78 Little Red Express truck.
I was shocked myself reading that guys story. I know they were “just cars” then, but even then I would think it would be rare for a corvette to be a daily into the winter driverI have no intention of my recently acquired Corvette ever needing snow tires!

There is a story to go with that picture? How may I find it - I like reading stories.I was shocked myself reading that guys story. I know they were “just cars” then, but even then I would think it would be rare for a corvette to be a daily into the winter driver
That’s really all the story was, I’ll try find it again. There is a story to go with that picture? How may I find it - I like reading stories.
Yes, Corvettes were more often than not 'dailys' bitd. They were never really 'just cars' , but they were daily drivers and ofttimes the only car. I never put snow tyres on mine, but in the late 70s, my 70 both top roadster was my only car. In fact, it started snowing the afternoon I picked it up from the previous owner.
As an aside, high horsepower Corvettes on wide tyres are NOT the vehicle of choice in slippery conditions...![]()
Thanx!
I did the same on my `70 Road Runner it got around very well. Sears sold them for cheap, I believe they were recaps. All I could afford. Nice Charger. My step father used to take the Keystone mags off and put the other two Magnum 500 wheels with the studded snow tires on his 70 Charger R/T SE every winter. The car was pretty good in the snow with the studded snow tires on it!
