My hands and ability to be a grunt do to my farm upbringing have always been my greatest asset.
Although I was at the top of my class and full of knowledge, the vast majority is useless. And a set of hands and strong back combined with common sense and some discipline will get you far in life.
If I instill 1 thing in to my young son it will hopefully be the same values. That may be difficult though because he is 18 mo. and I just turned 37.
I'm now trying to learn the books and the numbers part of my profession. It's a tad confusing, combine that with the fact that it's a bit hard to find good help nowadays. That's enough to drive me back to the bottle.......
